We were staying in Suffolk for a few days and this was our favourite pub. The staff are friendly and the view of the river is amazing. Lots of lovely swans and boats bobbing around in the river. It was only open in the day time when we visited but it has a lovely sunny garden going down to the river. We visited everyday on our holiday and wish it was our local pub.
Lovely lunch here looking over Oulton Broad. Shame about the weather but the food more than made up for it. Lovely friendly attentive staff. Special thanks to Andy who made my trio of puds.
We came here this evening for our wedding anniversary. The staff were lovely and welcoming, the food was delicious and the views were flippin special. We ate upstairs and then went into the garden for drinks, it was absolutely buzzing! Totally coming back soon!
Steak was over done I asked for medium and got well done and veg was cold on delivery but my husband and daughters burgers were good. My mum had the cheeze and beetroot tart and said it was great. Dad wasn't too impressed with his fish batter but was otherwise happy. Venue is excellent with choice of indoor or outdoor eating - though the menu varies also with that choice. Choice of drinks was also very good including guest ciders and varied and large gin menu.
My second visit after moving to the area only a week ago. Tried a few bars but this appears to be the best. Sat outside overlooking the water with the sun going down. It's a really nice place with new ownership. Dog friendly as well. The service was good and staff very friendly. Will visit again, thank you.
Not a great experience, not enough staff, obviously not bothered about service,staff dressed badly waited age's to get served a drink at outside bar. When only 1 person serving, when food eventually arrived after 30 mins it had obviously been left under a heater to keep warm, as bacon was over cooked.along with the bloody chicken and under cooked chips. Won't be going back, like most people I want value for money with decent service but most certainly didn't get it at the commodore
My sister in law and I had afternoon tea at The Commodore today. Wow... we had an amazing time. The sandwiches and wraps were beautiful. Lots of filling too. The scones were lush with the clotted cream and jam and the cake selection was fab. It was all so amazing we even had to take home what we had left. I'm sure my brother enjoyed them. Thank you. We had a beautiful tile. Xx
Great place with friendly service. Delicious lamb, huge portion and great desserts. I have gluten intolerance, the service advised me on the choice of dessert perfectly. A great menu is complemented by a sensational view from the window. It's one of the best birthdays I've had, although the staff was disappointed that I didn't mention it until the bill. You are great. I recommend to everyone. We will be back.
Not the best roast dinner, but the dessert was good. The staff were lovely and there is a great view.
Splendid in all regards. Great vibe, food. Tanya in particular was extremely welcoming. 5 stars, and that's not counting the view!
