Staff are negligent, argumentative. Constantly understaffed. Usually 1 LPN covering 4 floors and maybe 1 care aide for 2 floors. I called 3 times in one dat and waited 30 minutes each time, no one picked up the phone at all.nThe negligence is horrendous there, my grandfather had an unwitnessed fall, not clear if he hit his head. And they just found in on the floor. Staff are uneducated and will argue about everything. After my grandfather fell, head injury unknown, they did not properly assess him and gave him a sedative even though he wasn't inappropriate or aggressive - nurse uses drugs inappropriately causing harm to the patients. Every time I visit he is constantly unbathed, malodorous.nnThe Director of care does not have adequate education to hold her position - only LPN license, no leadership training. Argumentative to family as well. Pharmacist didn't approve adding vitamins for my grandpa cause apparently 'preservatives and addictives are present in vitamins and supplements that can negatively impact a person's health' - I asked another pharmacist this is not true at all. Quality care is an unknown phenomenon in this facility do not admit your family there. Avoid at all costs if you can.nnUPDATE: they are starving their patients, the food is barely digestible. My grandpa was at a healthy weight and aince being amditted he has lost 25lbs in 8 weeks. We are getting him out as soon as we can or he will starve ti death- not die based on his diagnosis. I am filing a formal complaitn with the licensing board, college of physicians for Dr. Wolff - knows nothing about geriatrics although he claims to, and with BCCNM. Do not bring your family there.
This review is for the Cascades Hospice which is located at the same location.nnThe facility inside is very clean, tidy and feels like a home away from home. All the rooms and furniture inside are well-kept and maintained.nnThe staff here were extremely kind and patient especially with my mom who had troubles communicating with them since English isn’t her first language in regards to caring for my late father.nnThank you to all the lovely staff and volunteers here - they genuinely care and have a lot of patience dealing with both clients and family members especially unruly family members who maybe short or impolite to staff.
This is a fantastic facility. The staff are super nice. The grounds are well kept. When someone is ill and at that point in life they meed to be somewhere that can care for my them properly so they can pass pain free and with dignity. Thank you Cascade Hospice for caring for a dear friend.nIt’s hard to believe tomorrow, July 12 2022 will be 3 years since I sat with my friend Lenard Wilson as he took his wings. Miss u so much
I have so much respect for the volunteers, nurses and staff at the hospice at cascades. The room was perfect and the care for my mother was superb. The food was excellent and my mother was bathed every day and changed. Special thanks to Nurse Practitioner Sean Young and Nurse Debbie.nnMy brother Bruce Smith and myself thank you very much.
CBC News report on Sun Nov 3rd 2019 about a lady kept in her room for two weeks - - - while facility decided how to deal with bedbugs in a client's room. Good on the staff for discreetly letting family know and to health care authorities. This should never happen in a public facility - or is this what happens when you contract out services.
