Me Grandpa was kept in this facility until he went to be with Jesus. I'm thankful for the caring, thoughtful staff who remembered me even though they only met me once! I believe they took care of my Grandpa very well and did the best they could with the given circumstances. God bless you and keep you, make His face to shine upon you, turn His face toward you, and give you peace in Jesus's Name. Amen. Jesus loves you guys!
Have no idea how my mother died. I called her several times throughout the day for a full week. Nursing staff reported and stated that my mom was good, no issues. I asked staff to check her phone and ensure it was charged and working. They informed me that her phone was charged and working. Tried calling my mom, no answer. My mom would call me 4-5 times a day, to no calls, again staff said she was fine. For three to four days I continued to call, one evening I get a call asking if I want to send to my mom to hospital. I told them to send her, from what information they gave. This is when I found out she had been very unwell for sometime!! What! ER sent her back to Eden, brothers were not able to catch the doctor in ER, informed information sent to nursing home. Next morning her doctor called regarding her blood work and asked us to come to home immediately . She died that morning. Information and treatment was missed, from my understanding. She was only 69. Still to this day have no closure, no understanding of how she died. What happened? No one, including her doctor would explain what happened? Nurses and some care staff were let go? So what really happened? They are so understaffed and management did nothing but fire nurses! Who really is responsible here! If this was your mom, how would you feel. I will never forgive them. Things happen in life, but I deserve answers, they know the answers, as well as the emergency doctor, doctor, manager and floor staff. Sad that I don’t get to know what happened. Investigations process was horrible!! Actually disgusting and not helpful at all. Bits of information that added up to nothing, like pulling teeth. They would not release all information.nNo one wanted to sue, just wanted to know what happened. So very upsetting.nI tried to get information, but the system is there for the care home, not for the protection of seniors in care. Absolutely terrible how I was treated by those that conduct investigations!! Never in my life have I had to deal with such undue care and attention! No one out there would even look at me. No one from the care home would even talk to me. They knew I was in the building emptying out her room, and when I went to the office, they refused to talk to me!! What are they hiding? Even the doctor would not speak to me! I have a right to know!! If this was a child, you think you could hide the information. I thought about calling the police, as I felt they would be more help, then the health authorities. Profit over Care.nI would rather die before ever going into any care home, I will choose MAID. They should be absolutely ashamed .nShop around for care homes. Don’t let the placement force you into sending your love one to this care home, choose wisely. Look for better patient to care staff ratio. These HCAS are run to ground and same with the LPNs. I only point the finger to those that run these profit for care facilities. Ask how much profit they’ve made? Pay taxes have a right. If your love one needs to be place, ensure it’s close to you, and show up unexpectedly!! They will eventually will use tactics in the hospital to make you pay for your bed, but you have right to choose. They will tell you, you will eventually get to your home of choice.nI am so sorry mom that I wasn’t there to support you! I hope you did not suffer, my heart and soul aches thinking about you. I feel so bad not being there for you! Love you so much mom!!nMy mom’s last words spoken to her son, “I don’t want to die”! What ever happened? I understand that my mom was not a healthy individual, as why she was placed. The upsetting aspect is how we as a family were treated, in not being aware for one she was very ill, and what was it that lead to her death.nFraser Valley Health thanks for nothing in the helping me figure out what happened. Things could have gone differently if you, doctors and the facility just explained what happened. Maybe I could put my mind and heart at ease. May this never happen to another family.nThanks Eden Non Care Facility for Nothing but hardship and pain.
Would like to see more staff time per patient and less restraint and bed time per day.nnJan 2019 : Some time has passed and I feel much more positive about the care my sister is receiving.nShe is no longer in bed when we go to visit and seems more alert and happier than she was before.nShe is awake during the day when we visit and seems happy. There seems to be more control of the interactions of other patients and she is less stressed.
Employee there has such loud exhaust it's dumb. Starting up his car n shutting it off is a bit much at 6 am. Poor people who live in the care home n half to hear that everyday. This morning the car woke me up, n probly all the people in the care home aswell. Completely rude n unthought full. Made me wonna go out there n smack the guy. He literally parked his car turned the engine off then started it 3 times. Whatta dork. Should be called edons don't care home. If it's not the employees hitting there car alarm 20 times walking to the door it's sum goof with the loud annoying engine. Guy should should really park away from the spot..... Completely inconsiderate of people who actually live around the area and in the care home. The employee must be a teenie bopper. Loud engine or exhaust is trying to make up for something here. Sm p.,... Parently old employee says building does not meet the code.. building should be shut down. These employees gotta remember they work in a residential area so shut the hell up first thing in the am.
Family is very much included in process. Everything explained in clear, compassionate way. Every concern was addressed in a cheery, timely manner. Pemesis clean and all staff seemed conscientious. Peace of mind for family.
