After winning a Gränsfors Bruk Scandinavian Forest Axe at the Toronto Sportsman show a couple years ago I discovered a whole new level of quality all packed up in an unexpected store front space. This store amazes me for the quality of the products they select to sell and their customer service. These are thoughtfully selected products that will last a life time, and actually work. I've bought tools, clothes and most recently a Hot Tent. Well worth the price, well worth the effort to stop by the store.

Bought a Scandinavian skinning knife with warranty, used the knife the first time on a bear for skinning and quarter the bear. Didn't cut any bones. and the knife blade has a small chip. Store won't honor the warranty. But sharpen the chip out for free. I guess the manufacturer defect warranty means you get free sharpening when your knife fails when you need it the most in the bush. Now I use a Canadian knife made with tooling steel, and never have a chip in the blade. Don't need to worry about sharp metal in my meat. Reply: as I recall, your employee said if the knife doesn't snap in half, it does not count as manufacturer defect. For that kind of service I'd rather use a steak knife. For utility knife a chip is not really a concern, but for a meat knife, it is important, I don't want to chip my teeth or eat a sharp metal.

In the world of big-box stores and the maze of on-line shopping, the Canadian Outdoor Equipment Company, has nothing to fear and stands out from the crowd. Knowledgeable and experienced staff, supported by quality products, makes the COE my destination of choice when is comes to me snowshoeing, winter camping and canoeing needs. Quality counts! There are no second chances whether you are snowshoeing the wild of Northern Ontario, or on the Nahanni. Gear has to work! Your life could depend on it. So why leave the selection to chance. You are not just buying a product, you are getting knowledge. And that is well worth the price!

Neat store if you are into bushcraft. The display of twig stoves made it easy for me to compare and conclude which product I liked. Would purchase again in future
