This welcoming and relaxing café in the heart of Picton offers a variety of coffees, teas, and specialty drinks. Serving fresh panini sandwiches, quiches and tourtiere. We have gluten-free, vegan/vegetarian options, as well as award winning desserts.

Story

This welcoming and relaxing café in the heart of downtown Picton is housed in the historical Masterfeeds Building, built in 1835. The Bean Counter Café serves freshly ground coffees, lattes, cappuccinos and espressos using County roasted fair-trade coffee. If quality, organic and fair-trade is your “cup of tea,” enjoy loose-leaf teas from around the world at the café or purchase for steeping in your own home. Serving lunch items like panini sandwiches, salads, quiches, and tourtiere, we make everything fresh and in house. Come in and enjoy our award winning desserts made right next door at The County Sweet Spot.

Great coffee and amazing scones. There are tables outside where you can enjoy your coffee and people watch. They also sell St Viateur bagels here. Cute spot in Picton!
The friendliest staff - felt right at home here while visiting PEC!
We were disappointed with the quality of the food. We bought a croissant, muffin and carrot cake. The croissant tasted like the packaged ones from the grocery store. We were expecting fresh, buttery and flaky. The chocolate raspberry muffin was ok. I thought that the raspberries would be fresh but they were dried. The carrot cake had no flavour! Where’s the carrots!? The icing should have been cream cheese which it wasn’t. All of the food items were served cold which sucks for baked goods as they are more dense and firm rather than soft and warm as fresh baked goods should be. The coffee was fine. We’ve decided that this is the last time we’ll visit the Bean Counter. We usually go to the Beacon but for some reason we thought we’d change it up. Bean Counter has definitely gone down hill. Even their bars Nanaimo and Millionaire are cut into half the size that they used to be!
Good quality drinks, very busy. Outdoor seating is great.
The biggestttttt hidden gem in Picton!!! Best coffee I ever tasted and love the patio vibe! The staff is super friendly... nTry the hot chocolate and coffee! You will be taken to whole new different world !!!!
