The Beach House is a one of a kind experience offering fresh seafood and beach dishes influenced from around the world. The decor made you feel like you were on the beach. We had the crab cake and oysters garlic meuniere for an appetizer. For our entrées we had the last Snapper special with jasmine rice and South Carolina Shrimp + Grits Being from the Midwest I have never had this and it was my favorite if you like a little heat. Because the food is so light I feel you always have room for dessert. The only negative is also a positive-The Beach House ran out of all of their specials by 7:30 on a Saturday night. However, that is also a sign of its popularity. For an escape from the ordinary, try the Beach House in beautiful downtown Ottawa!
Food was awesome. Waitress knew the menu and her recommendations were perfect. Appetizers and food came out really quick. Manager was very friendly. Food was on the pricey side but was not disappointed at all. Great vibes.Dine in: Yes
What a wonderful dinner. We came in on Thursday for Hawaiian night. I ordered a $5 rum runner, which was the special and it was very good, not overly sweet. We began our meal with a Maryland crab cake and 5 oysters. The crab cake was very good, and that's saying something as we are originally from Maryland. Our entrees were shrimp and grits as well as cioppino. Both were excellent, however, we would have liked more broth in the cioppino. Would I order everything again? Absolutely. Our server Lola was attentive and very pleasant. We will definitely come back. Just wish there were more white wines by the glass.
We went for their happy hour oysters last night and had a wonderful experience! We tried the Thai Chili Oysters, Raw Oysters, and Oysters Rockefeller - Happy hour only includes the Chesapeake Oysters. All were great and super flavorful. We also tried the catch of the day, blackened, oscar style with fingerling potatoes. So so so delicious! Highly recommend.
$1 per piece raw on oysters every Tuesday 4pm-6pm. Who would say no? I loved all I order. Just don’t go if you’re starving because you will definitely wait longer than expected. And don’t forget to bring enough cash Recommended dishesShrimp and Grits, Oysters Rockefeller
It's nice to see new places coming into town. The food was pretty good. The pork belly risotto was outstanding. The lobster curry was decent. The crab cake was ok. Now maybe I'm out of touch, but I feel things were a bit overpriced...especially for not being in major metropolitan area. The service was outstanding. In all there are no real complaints. It was a good experience. I'd recommend giving it a try. For what it's worth, my rating was based solely on my opinion of 2 out of 3 food items being "ok" and not because of the $. Also my "price of $20 to $30 per person" range was based solely on food items...I didn't factor in drinks as that's not a fair assessment.
Been coming every couple weeks since they opened Great food , great drinks , great service ! Make sure you make a reservation if you want a seat or hit the bar if you don’t mind eating there. Get there early if you want the specials , they sell out quick !
The space is small; it has been crowded ever since it opened. Brooke is an excellent server! Overall, the food is tasty and well-portioned. The sirloin filet comes with roasted potatoes and green beans. The shrimp pad tai had a dozen shrimp in it! The clam chowder was rich and creamy. This could be a 5 star restaurant except for the lobster bisque which did NOT taste nor look like lobster bisque. It was too salty and not thick enough for a bisque. Try the smores dessert; it is delicious! The key lime panna cota tasted more like a dense cheesecake or flan; it was not delicious... Prices are reasonable and now Ottawa, IL, has another good restaurant to go for date night!
The owners of this restaurant have continued thier trend of opening and running successful fine dining establishments. This restaurant is keeping up with the trend of unique flavor combinations with great service. We had the steak rolls, crab cakes, lobster rolls, and shrimp with grits. They were awesome! I will definitely be back!!!
Great little restaurant that does exactly what it needs to. Delicious entrées, appetizers, and oysters. A little gem in the heart of the city. Thanked the chefs afterwards, but they really could care less as they were extremely busy. S’mores Dessert or bust
