First time visiting this place. Foods are definitely delicious. We just thought the Haggis would be a bit bigger? But they were tasty regardless. Yorkshire bowl is huge and filling. Drinks were made perfectly. Great ambiance. We will be back.
Pleasantly surprised! My meal wasnt nearly as dense as I thought it would be. Still not sure what "neeps* are, but know I don't care for them very much. The Yorkie bowl, on the other hand, I cared a great deal for! Steak was tender and juicy, Yorkshire was crisp and delicious... Hearty gravy and mashed potatoes... Rounded out by their Scottish "flyte" of beers. All told, a very satisfying meal!
The food was tasty, but the veggie pot pie could have been more heartier personal opinion but would've subbed the edamame/red pepper for peas/mushrooms/chickpeas/cauliflower. Overall, we had a good experience and our server was so kind and helpful, so would definitely recommend and return. Also, heard that they may be bringing more veggie options in the future like vegetarian gravy for the poutine! So that's something to look out for next time :
Greeted warmly by both the lady at the door and our server who was hilarious! Attentive and smiling the whole time. Lovely to have some haggis, neeps and chips while my friend had the Scotch pies with neeps and yam fries! generous portions meant we both have lunch for today Parking: Lots of free parking.
Just moved to the area and tried The Glen around 2pm on a Wednesday. I was SO surprised by this place! The staff I met were easily the warmest and most welcoming I've ever encountered, so cheery and enthusiastic. I tried my first ever Scotch Egg. It was quite good, the house-made tomato marmalade was odd yet it worked well with it. I really don't know much about Scottish cuisine, but I had thought a Scotch Egg was supposed to be runny yolk'd and unpierced, this one was hard yolk'd and sliced in half - a nice presentation. The Yorkie Pie was phenomenal, it's gravy was top notch. Entirely satisfied with this place, I expect I will return many times. Give it a try.
Great service. Food is amazing. No wait. Debbie was great!!! Thanks to all of the staff been top notch for years ever since they opened the new location. James is on top always. Best fish & chips!! Cheers
I came to this place with a Scottish friend and was amazing. Today I invited my family to taste the food. Next time I think in a pub I will be there.
Party of 10 for lunch, excellent all around. The Fish and Chips is the best in the city and so are the Deep Fried Pickles if that's your thing. Large draught selection and great choices for wine and spirits. Lots of Scottish charm and music and tons of memorabilia adorn the walls. There is a bar side for the more lively type and a restaurant side for the casual diners. Great service and will certainly be back. Parking: Tons of free parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for walkers and wheelchairs. Automatic open doors as well.
kind and friendly staff who are happy to help. The food is amazing with beautiful platery. Vegetarian options: Loads of options Kid-friendliness: Staff very nice with kid friendly menu choices Parking: Loads of parking Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access Dietary restrictions: Staff are well trained and know the menu off by heart
Starting with the good....service was great and servers were very friendly. Cons: Fish was overdone and dry and was plated with burnt side down, so we wouldn't notice. I didn't really like the thick cut fries, but everybody has their own preference for the thickness of fries. I didn't complain to servers because they were so nice. Will not return here...at least not for the fish.
