This was our first visit to this restaurant and my husband and I loved it! We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and of course the food! We loved a bread they served before meals. It was warm and soft. We had chicken schnitzel and onion soup. The food was very homey, especially the rosti! We would definitely come back to try more dishes.
This is truly a unique spot and after visiting Europe recently, you really appreciate this place for what it is. I’d place the Alphorn in with traditional European cuisine so thanks for that! Also, close to the mountain! How fitting! Been coming here for years and never disappointed. We arrived as a group of 8 and were promptly seated at their large round booth. Right away you get the feel of small town vibes with very authentic interior decor that just teleports you to the Alps! All of the food was amazing, reasonably priced and arrived quickly even though they had a hiccup in their kitchen with the plumbing. Everything tasted fresh and the restaurant was not too busy compared to the places in the village. We would return here again if we are ever in the area. First choice based on just the food or friendly service alone.
We are so happy that we stumbled across this lovely restaurant! We had a wonderful, delicious breakfast here. I’m still craving the schnitzel even though it was my husband who ordered it for himself haha. Highly recommend trying this place out! And a special thanks for the waitress who gave us some good morning laughs!
Such a wonderful local gem, and a must visit if you are out in Collen Wood or Blue Mountains. The atmosphere in this authentic Swiss restaurant is cozy and charming. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, even though they are a bit overwhelmed from the high demand. As a person who frequents Switzerland, Germany, and Austria often, I can say with confidence that the items on the menu and the recipes are as close to authentic as you can get in Ontario. This place is a must visit.
We went there for breakfast and it was such a lovely time. The food was delicious and the servers were ever so kind. The interior of this restaurant is decorated in such a fun and interesting way, would be a great place to bring visiting friends/family!! We will definitely be coming back.
Someone recommended this restaurant, and we decided to try it for dinner. Restaurant was very busy and it had a cozy atmosphere. We ordered the pork schnitzel and the beef stroganoff, everything was delicious. Server was very nice and helpful. My husband went back 2 times over the weekend as he loved the food sooo much.
Had a wonderful meal at the Alphorn. Great atmosphere inside the restaurant and had a real authentic feel. Excellent food too. I had the French onion and the schnitzel and was fantastic. Will definitely be coming back again!
4 stars, food was good for a tourist attraction. One staff was joking rude, I'm not sure if she's trying to put on a character or downright rude. She'd be a good candidate to work at Karen's restaurant the one restaurant which you're there for the rude service. The food was quick and big portion. Delicious schnizels, I ordered hunter for 2. Dont accidentally give tips twice because it's 18% for party of 6 or more and the machine will still ask you to pay once more.
A great place for a bite to eat when in the Collingwood / Craigleith area. The restaurant has a cool design and very eclectic in its decorations. Food is pretty good and fairly priced. Service is extremely attentive and the lady who served our table for breakfast was just about the most energetic server I’ve ever met. A fantastic character.
