Well worth a visit and definitely coming back. It’s fair to guess that The Abbey had a bit of work done during COVID but what a fantastic job the did! The tables outside are all set up like small individual rooms. There’s a TV in each one, perfect for watching the game! There’s a heater in each one so the weather is irrelevant as they’re covered too. The menu is on a QR code which makes ordering direct to the table easy. + You get to add an extra free side of awesome roast potatoes if you get through the first lot! Overall, lovely place, friendly staff. Great job guys.
Went for a meal on a Thursday. The place was not too busy but many tables occupied. Lovely atmosphere, music not too loud. I loved the lots of different sections you can sit down and not being overlooked, but still open space and light feeling. The food was lovely, I went for the duck, it was done superb. Polite staff, our table was checked on. Outside nice seating area with tv-s, comfortable, dog friendly. Great outdoor space for summertime.
Lovely meal and a nice cold pint. Very professional staff. We were able to sit outside as it was a pleasant evening. As soon as customers left the tables were sanitised. Definitely will return. Thank you.
Food has gone down hill recently and had to wait over 80 minutes on a weekday for a burger that was drowned in sauce not impressed at all. The bar staff were lovely on the other hand.
Booked a table for a lovely Mother’s Day meal after sharing many celebrations at this pub, we had high expectations and were all rather excited. However these expectations where not met. We all ordered starters and when they brought them out 1 was missing. We waited almost 20 minutes for the missing starter and by this point we had all finished eating. The mains were awful; the lamb chops were tough and chewy, the vegetables were rock solid and raw, the hunters chicken was dry and didn’t have much BBQ sauce. We did have a check back but unfortunately it was too early on into our meals. As we aren’t ones to complain we just carried on but when they came to clear the plates we did have to say we are sorry but the food wasn’t up to standard. The manager agreed to take the cost of our desserts off the bill, which we were grateful for but we would have preferred not having to pay for the awful main meals. Unfortunately we won’t be sharing any special occasions or any occasion here again. Wouldn’t recommend
We came for the Sunday roast. I had the Turkey and my daughter had the Beef. Lovely tender meat served and a generous portion too. Arrived well presented and hot, free top ups of gravy, roasts and Yorkshire puddings if you choose. We both really enjoyed the food. Some of the drinks are a bit pricey but that's not their fault. The service was fantastic and overall a lovely atmosphere Thank you, we will be back.
Very good Sunday lunch but it was not hot when served, just warm. The ‘lashings ‘ of gravy was more like a couple of spoonfuls. The roast beef and the pork were very good. We will return despite these two complaints.
Really nice food. Warm, friendly service. Lovely covered outside area. The heaters could do with a longer timer on them to save clicking the button every 2-3 minutes.
Great community pub, has come out of the lockdown with different themes for different nights. Some of my friends say the food is good and not overpriced. CAMRA night on Mondays with reduced prices on real ales, Quiz night on Wednesdays it gets packed. My favourite band are playing here at the weekend, The Ronaldos... Whats not to like!
Went for meal and join in on the quiz. My son had to send his dinner back, second offering was better. Quiz was quite good and we didn't come last so didnt disgrace ourselves.
