The 4 stars rating is for their fresh soya milk and fried tofu cube. We visited the store on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t too crowded. The staff brought out a tray of freshly made soya milk so I bought 2 bottles to try that out. I also bought a couple orders of regular fried tofu cube and we finished half before we even got back to our car. Recommended!
Sometimes you just gotta treat yourselves! On route home from Guelph, Ontario, we made a quick stop at Thanh Son Tofu, located inside Mississauga Chinese Centre Thanh Son Tofu is a Vietnamese shop that specializes in tofu treats and many authentic and traditional Vietnamese good eats! Customers and staff were mainly speaking in Vietnamese... I have NO idea what they were saying, and I don't know how to pronounce anything inside the store LOL After pointing around, and holding up the line, I found myself ordering the following items to try: * Sticky rice topped with Vietnamese sausage and ham * Grilled banana stuffed sticky rice 2pcs with coconut sauce * Pandan flavoured soybean drink * Chè Bà Ba aka Taro, cassava, yams and tapioca in coconut milk * Steamed rice rolls with fish sauce * Crispy rice cake topped with shredded pork, chili flakes and a hint of sweetness * Glutinous rice cake sandwiched bby 2 thiccc slices of Vietnamese ham my favourite! CASH ONLY. The food I ordered was AMAZING. So much flavours with lots of different textures. I would recommend everything savoury there - the sticky rice with the sausage and ham, and the steamed rice rolls are my favourite! I personally think it was worth a visit if you're heading to sauga area!
Great food and their pricing. Super hard to communicate if you don’t speak Vietnamese. The less interaction the smoother the transaction will be in this case sadly.
This store doesn’t follow any of the Ontario Tax Laws. They charge HST on food. All of these items are only GST 5% taxable. Some cashier are also very rude. The owners need to re-train them how to deal with customers. We are paying YOU, not the other way around! So stop the attitudes and pay attention to the customers!! We don't ask for any FAVORS or FREE anything :.
Fried Tofu of different kinds at a very good value. The spring rolls found within the tofu display are good too. Plus they have freshly made soya milk sweetened, pandan-flavoured, and unsweetened. Customer service is not their forte but they do make good Viet desserts that makes up for it. Also other items wrapped in banana leaves that are great!
We ordered a tray of spring rolls for a party, the lady we placed the order with was very unplesant on the phone. They didnt give any digging sauces with sr. Their kitchen was apparently too busy to cut the sr in half. Our family have been coming here for years, but the ladies are difficult to deal with.. The soy milks goes bad fairly quickly too in the fridge.
It's a take out only, with some specialty foods that you can pick up. I tried the Chicken Lemongrass Banh Mi, it was very flavorful, not spicy at all. Very fresh with the salad in it and the bread was nice and light too.
Soft tofu are always fresh for sure. But now prices of everything went up thru the roof! Sugarcane juice $4 and you will be given a small cup with mostly ice and only 1 sip of juice ...that's sad!
We always stop by this place when we are in the area for their seasoned fried tofu. 1.25 for 5 pieces.
We come here all the time for banh mi buns. One of the best in the city! You can also buy the meat on its own and make your own banh mi buns as it’s fresh and tasty. The soy bean milk also has great flavour. It’s fresh, not too sweet if you get sweetened and not watered down like when you buy at grocery stores.
