Ordered UberEats from here a couple days ago. I called the restaurant ahead of time to ask if their dishes could be made vegan. The young lady on the phone was very pleasant and helpful, and wrote down my questions so that she could go and ask the kitchen staff for me. Luckily she said all the dishes I asked about can be made vegan. I ended up ordering the veggie spring rolls, green curry with tofu, and vegetable fried rice. I hate to say it but the only dish I enjoyed and that was actually tasty was the green curry with tofu. The veg spring rolls were packed with glass noodles and very little bits of mushroom and carrot, and was completely flavourless. The vegetable fried rice was kind of sad looking and colourless. I don’t even think any soy sauce was added… which is kind of crucial to a fried rice, no? It was flavourless as well, lacking any salt and pepper even. The green curry with tofu was actually nice to my surprise, and was flavourful with a nice balance of sweetness from the coconut milk and some light spice. The spice could be more but I understand not everyone is used to spice, maybe the restaurant could offer different spice levels for dishes for their customers. I appreciate the restaurant’s helpful staff and service but their food could definitely be improved.
** Full Disclosure.....I'm a Pad Thai addict ** I have traveled all over the US and Canada eating Pad Thai. I had high hopes for this place but was so disappointed. The young man attending to my needs did a fine job. The crispy veg spring roll fell short, having really no veg and really only glass noodles, as you can see in the pic. Now for the main "Pad Thai" it was flavorless and very oily. In all the years of eating Pad Thai it's never been this greasey. Also I asked for medium heat but it was so overwhelmingly hot it kept making me caught, and I consider myself to have decent spice tolerance. Finally the atmosphere was warm and welcoming and they had good water. Maybe the other dishes are fine so definitely worth a try. Oh and I wanted to be honest and up front so everything I said here I passed on to my server AFTER receiving the bill so they didn't think i was trying to get a discount/free meal, but they insisted on comping the dish, so at least there's that. Parking: Large lot ample spots
Nice quite place with a warm, welcoming feeling and the pictures insides really adds to th3 decor. We got there had to wait a little but that's because the girl Rae was super busy... however once she attended to us we really felt the Japanese hospitality her background 5 star for her service. The food was pretty good despite the other bad reviews here. We have chicken shrimp pad Thai and red curry with steam rice, soup and even wings and crispy spring rolls. Everyone is super friendly, it is kid friendly and I absolutely recommend.
Wanted to order 2 appetizers on a Friday before 6pm, neither were available. Had Tom Yum Shrimp soup, it was not authentic at all, the appearance, ingredients and tastes were very disappointing. It had no heat, no tomatoes, no sweetness. It was a salty and sour soup. A small soup for $6.99 is insane, I would be ok if it was good, but it was horrible! Then I had fish in coriander sauce, it was so so. Would not return.
Very disappointed this time. Green curry is watered down -- no flavour at all. Vegetables - some over cooked and some undercooked. Pad Thai overcooked and noodles were "broken" into small pieces. Again, no flavour. Had pad Thai last week and was much better. Not sure if I'll ever go back after today's experience.
The quality of a frozen entree, not a restaurant. First, the Pad Thai was missing all the vegetables except the bean sprouts and peanuts and had absolutely no flavor. Second, we paid extra for sticky rice and got under cooked Basmati? And, third, the Garlic Vegetables were more of bad soup with minced garlic from a jar. As a former kitchen manager and chef, it was the worst Thai I've had in Barrie!
First time ordering from this restaurant. Amazing! Food was not only steaming hot upon arrival but everything tasted, smelled and looked fresh. Whoever cooked that meal did an outstanding job. Definitely ordering again soon. Quick and efficient delivery too. Vegetarian options: Perfectly cooked veggies, still crisp, fresh and delicious.
I ordered a Pad Thai with chicken and spring rolls. The entree was good and filling, and the spring rolls were some of the best I’ve ever had! It is pretty expensive, which is the reason for my 4 star rating. However, it is worth it if you’re looking for some authentic Thai food!Recommended dishesPad Thai & Spring Rolls, Classic Pad Thai Chicken, Fresh Spring Rolls, House Fried Rice
Last long weekend before the summer ends and school starts, we had been to Orilla parks and to the lake and then to Barrie waterfront , had a wonderful day at both the places ,we walked till our legs hurt... Then we got a recommendation from one of the friends to visit this place... Everything here is so perfect and droolworthy that you would love each and every bite of it.You will relish it to a larger extent , huge portions..Authentic Thai taste...Lovely decor... Highly recommended if anyone is in and around Barrie.... The chicken Tom Yum Soup had the perfect stint of lemongrass and turmeric and a little squeeze of lemon.. The cashwes nuts and stir fry came i loaded with chicken ,cashews and veggies.. with the thick sweet and sour curry or sauce base.. Everything we were served was just awesome and value for money.. one should visit this place Will definitely go back again.
Due to covid, we have experienced some terrible customer service and food quality at other restaurants. We were skeptical when we came here and made sure to read the reviews. The reviews suggested that we get the Crispy Vegetable Spring Rolls, and they were absolutely delicious 10/10. We also got Tofu Pad Thai 7/10 and Red Chicken Curry 10/10. The portion sizes are generous for sure, but the star of this restaurant is the vibe 10/10 and the staff members 11/10. They were so so so very nice to us and so warm and welcoming. Definitely will be coming back here again in the future.
