Taughannock Falls State Park

Awesome falls and beautiful hiking trails... We hiked the south rim trail down to the gorge trail to the beautiful 200' plus waterfall... We saw a few fishermen pull out some large fish. Then we hiked back up to out car on the north rim trail. Both rim trails offer stunning views of the water and falls below. We will definitely be going back again. Unfortunately when we went in November the north rim trail steps were not usable and we had to detour around... Not a big deal though... Just love to see the workmanship in making the stairs... Hope they can repair soon so we can use them in the future.

We found out about this place when at Buttermilk falls on our way from Watkins Glen, a nice lady had told us to check out Taughannock and glad she did because this place was better than both of the others. Definitely worth going out of the way for and supposedly the tallest single drop waterfall in the NE USA. Safe and close to the roads but also some trails if you want to make a long hike out of it, we also saw some people way down at the bottom but we did not have the daylight or time to explore that route. Highly recommend this place though very gorgeous gorge!

Pretty. Fall is especially beautiful. There are a few easy hikes. The one to the bottom of the fall is one of the easiest. And gives you an amazing view of the falls. $8 parking charge for cars.

Moderate to easy level hike. We hiked the north and south perimeter trail. Both were not busy and offered great views. The gorge trail to the falls had quite a few people but the views were awesome. All in all, we hiked a total of 5.3 miles and it was very nice.

Always a favorite spot to bring guests. The last time we were here there was barely water flowing over so I was happy to see the falls I know and love. Such a beautiful and picturesque area. There was a hint of fall left.
