About Island Lake

Island Lake is a 1,142 acre, spring fed lake, and has a maximum depth of 38 feet. There are several islands, points, bays, and reefs making Island Lake a local walleye destination. In addition to walleye, there is a good large and small mouth bass population along with northern, crappie, perch and sunfish.

Absolutely wonderful experience at this resort! I was blown away with the way the owners son/wife treated us. Fantastic customer experience! They made our stay so memorable. Cabins are super cute, beach and shared areas are clean, lots of fun things to do!
Great place. Really nice hosts. Who pays 170 a nite and has no bedding available. COVID or not, we weren't staying in a tent. Totally lucky we have relatives near by that provided sheets blankets towels and wash cloths.
I love this place! It has a great deal of nostalgia that people absolutely love. There’s a wide array of items available from sundries, condiments, general cooking items. They try and keep pizza available for that lazy evening. Who doesn’t want ice cream! They have that too. The fishing boats are again nostalgic but fun to use. They are oldies but goodies! The cabins are rustic with modern conveniences. They try to keep beach equipment up to date. Two pontoons available fishing and leisure. Overall very relaxing environment.
Terrible communication. Unable to reach on multiple occasions before our trip to get prior approval for our dog. After looking at my bank statement I thought they forgot to take into account the $150 reservation fee. I contacted the son and he then sent me the invoice. There was no mention prior for a $75 pet fee for 2 nights. After leaving a couple voicemails, texts, and emails I have still not heard from anyone... it’s been 3 weeks! I guess after Tamarack takes your money they don’t take the time to listen. A fun weekend getaway turned into a disappointing memory... and we didn’t even catch one damn fish.
Amazing price for a hidden gem like this. The owner is just as amazing as the resort itself. All kitchen supplies included. There is also an office nearby that has food, charcoal, and many other items you need for camping. Will return for another summer vacation.

Beautiful view! Owners are very friendly and helpful. Cabin was very clean and stocked with all the basics. Great place to stay.
Rustic, relaxed fishing camp/resort. Nothing is fancy or classy here. Just cabins in the woods along the lake. Good fishing and boating. I've been coming here for over 20 years.
Every cabin is close to and has a beautiful view of the lake. Small, well run resort. Very clean with an awesome Sandy beach!
