This place has a strange drive threw but it had the best drink I've ever had at any fast food place. Crisp, clean and refreshing. I loved the potato oleys and they taste just as good as when I was a kid. I would go back for the food and drink. I want to add that I got my food really fast which was shocking as most fast food places are kind of slow.
I have personally never had a bad experience at this taco john’s. My food is always hot, fresh and quickly served. My orders have never been wrong at this location either. Pretty impressive and one of the best fast food places here in town.
I'm only giving them one star because I have too. My grandma, mom and I all went into this Taco John's for a late lunch to celebrate an early Mother's Day. We had the absolute worst experience. First, I walked up to the counter to order my food. I had ordered a cheese quesadilla, large ole, and a large drink. My mom and family then ordered 4 beef tacos and two small ole. We paid, to which the cashier didn't know how to count change, and then stood there and waited for our drink cups. After we had to ask for our drink cups, we sat down and waited for our food. The taco's and ole had arrived to the table but I didn't receive my food. I had went up to the counter after 15 minutes of waiting to ask where my food was and they proceeded to tell me I had received all my food. They then said, "Where is your receipt?". I showed them, the employee then proceeded to slam a tortilla on the grill, throw some cheese in it, and then threw a small ole in the bag. Once the employee slammed the bag down on the counter, I told him I ordered a large ole, he then threw the large ole in the bag and walked away. At this point, I had asked to not receive my food, and asked for a refund to which, they ignored, said I could have my food to go and walked away. Once I got my food, because they practically shoved it in my face, I had taken two bites of my cheese quesadilla to realize it wasn't even cooked all the way. This was the worst customer service I have ever received, not to mention their cleanliness was subpar. I will not be going back to a Taco John's for a very long time.
Good tex/mex. This is by far the fastest and friendliest TJ we have been to. It leaves the one in Altoona and Des Moines east in the dust. I would actually drive here from Pleasant Hill next time I have a craving. I don't eat fast food much. Was stopping for Oles and drinks. Fast Friendly service hot oles and cold drinks. I recommend this location. Parking: Good parking. Weird drive thru
I stopped in for potato oles. They are the best with the sweet season salt. I couldn't decide what I wanted so she happily suggested the taco brava, and I splurged and added a churro. I was very happy with everything. It was hot and fresh, and the food was flavorful. I appreciated the worker's friendliness and suggestion. I would go back next time I'm driving through town. Parking: The drive through is only on one side. It doesn't wrap around so if you pull into the north lot on the right, you can't access the drive through.
Visiting from TX and was told to try the nachos at Taco John's. The crispy tacos were only 1/3 filled. The super nachos look nothing like the photos and are very small for the price you pay. You are better off going to taco bell. Never again will I eat here. What a disappointment and waste of $30.
Their new quesodiilos whatever it's called is deceivingly small. If you were thinking about trying them....DONT!!!. I got the beef version and I'm glad I didn't waste more on the chicken. 2 of them in a combo for $8. My desire for some oles clouded my judgement. I so disappointed in myself. The lack of quality/size of this product doesn't justify the cost.
The tacos just flat lack enough meat and other ingredients on them. Too much grease, too little hamburger, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese.Food: 2/5
It is apparent that the employees expect that everyone that comes to order is familiar with the menu. Not quite the case, there are people that come from out of town. I changed my order a couple times as my son was having difficulty making up his mind and the person taking the order started yelling at me over the intercom. If I wasn't exhausted, I'd have gone elsewhere. Perhaps some customer service training is in order for this establishment. Food was okay.
I was absolutely shocked when I opened my first taco. It actually had a substantial amount of filling. And not just a ton of lettuce. The same with my burrito. The food was what I expected. Not great, but good. And the service was good. Someone should teach the manager at the Taco John's in Deadwood South Dakota how to properly prepare tacos and burritos.
