It was a very disappointing experience... I was so excited to try this place after reading all the fantastic five- star reviews. Menu looks interesting, the place was nice and cozy and the service was very good. Unfortunately, all of our food that night was way over salted. The last plate we ordered, we had to turn it back because we just could not eat it. It was so salty to a point where we weren't sure if we were tasting something acidic in the dish - and the bacon which usually is the saltiest! in the dish tasted under seasoned because of the over salted sauce. I'm really sad that it turned out to be not a good experience. I am not sure if I will give it a second chance.
Great place with unique interior, menu and atmosphere. Wonderful and friendly staff, very good service. Food was awesome. Location is perfect for a dinner and walk. The chanterelles dish was amazing, that why went there in the first place. Wouldn’t think to cook pine nuts with mushrooms but that added texture and flavour.
Our first time eating here. Ordered 3 vegetable dishes, scallops, and the wild boar meatballs. Everything was quite good. The scallops were amazing the crackers were a bit thick. The squash was very flavorful, a bit salty. The squash sauce was great on everything! The cocktails were amazingly well balanced and delicious. I had the Deadpool, highly recommended. Service was fantastic. Well done.
Had a fabulous dinner at Tabula Rasa a couple weeks ago. I have dined at Sous Soul a couple of times and was so excited to try this new eatery. They did not disappoint with amazing restaurant decor and plating. Their menu consists of different meats that could considerate to be more adventurous. My dining companion was not as adventurous as me so we got the Pork and the delicious Pasta, Potatoes and Brussels Sprouts. The chocolate chili dessert was amazing as well. I would like to come back and try the rest of the menu in the future. Thank you!
Overall amazing experience. Ambiance was very cozy and having Chris as our server was a delight! Very kind and courteous and seemed very proud of everything that came out. There was a custom movie-themed drink menu which was a pretty cool idea! Food was delicious. It was a Thursday night so it wasn’t too busy and food came out fairly quick. Our favourites that night were the Marinated Flat Iron Steak and Patatas Bravas. The chimichurri’s flavour with the steak was so lively. Each bite we took felt like we were biting into in the very first time. Highly recommend :
We had a great time at the cute and quaint Tabula Rasa. The service was quick and personable and the food was timed well. Like most tapas restaurants, some dishes are more of a hit than others and some are overpriced for what you receive. The Arctic Char was yummy but I wouldn’t pay $25 for a 3” cut of fish again, for example. The pasta of the week also had zero flavour with barely any toppings that were intended to bring life to the dish. We loved the Brussel Sprouts, Patatas Bravas and Tres Leches cake. Overall it was a lovely time and is a better tapas experience than we had at Nola.
Excellent service, nice selection of wine, and very delicious plates. We ordered the brussel sprouts, bass, zuchinni & corn, octopus & chorizo, duck, and sweet potato pasta. Favourites by our group of 4 was by far bass, zucchini, octopus and duck -- well seasoned and balanced dishes that we all shared with delight. This would be a place we would gladly come back to for a date night or with a few friends. A great new establishment for the area for a tapas menu.
Vegan friendly without sacrifice. Chef brought a smorgasbord of delicious plates off the menu, beautifully presented and delicious. Cocktails all unique and excellent.
Wonderful service and the food was a chefs kiss! Dishes are customizable, great for date nights to try something new.
Went to Tabula Rasa on Valentine's Day. They had a set course which we were excited to try. I could very well be wrong but my understanding is the menu changes day to day. Starting off was a scallop dish, very underwhelming, prevalent fishy taste, did not taste fresh. Next was burrata. Probably one of the more enjoyable dishes we had. Very fresh and light and the combination of ingredients went well together. Third was the artic char, which was caught that day and delievered to the restaurant. Everything about it was delicious from the char which was perfectly prepared to the leek beurre blanc, which complimented the char quite nicely. Next was the bison tenderloin. Very rich in flavours, enjoyable but not sure I'd order it again. Last was the dessert. A chocolate and yogurt dish. Not my favourite, very small and maybe two bites each. All together, three drinks and the set menu, after tip was $270. Service was excellent but was hungry after the dinner, portions were too small.
