It's been two months that I have known this great restaurant and have ordered a couple of times. I wanted to say that their foods are far beyond great. They are sooo delicious. Their Jumbo Donair is very good, but their Special Burger and Special Platter are incredible. Large size, large taste, and ecnomic price for all of that. I have to point out directly that their foods have great sizes and portions with really suitable and apporpriate prices. I highly recommend to put 'Lamar Donair & Burgers' restaurant in your regular food ordering list. I think it is one of the best restaurants in Winnipeg. If you haven't tried their 'Special Platter', you have not experienced one of the best platters in Winnipeg.
0 stars. Disgusting shawarma place, chicken shawarma smelled like fish and was very dry. Also their nose hair in it aswell, Jesus. Most haram to date. Also they don't cut fresh comes out in this liquid flavorless bath. Bald headed guy said it was the best, absolutely worst I have tasted in the city and for $14 they definitely are scamming people. Save your money, don't waste it here
Would not recommend...we ordered 7 items...the crispy chicken burger was NOT as advertised or pictured. The chicken was literally cardboard thickness and texture and the bun was dry. There was little, to no lettuce and the tomato was over ripe, thin and in pieces. The all meat donair bowls state sauce of choice, but no choices were given nor were any sauces supplied. The donair wraps and falafel wraps were satisfactory. Food was visually unappealing. Other than Doordash got our order here quickly, it was a huge disappointment. For that price, I expected way better!
The Donair was gross, seemed like poor quality meat and not tasty at all. Fries were Costco type and I am not a fan, service was fine. Maybe the rest of their menu is ok but I wasted $20+ on a jumbo Donair that I did not care to finish! Went last week for the first and last time.Food: 1/5
We were at the city place location...we ordered burgers and when we gotthem they were not cooked al the way but the young lady and man who were working fixed it no problem....they ran out of burgers but asked us if we wanted to have something else we had the donai wraps...they were amazing....the two employees are very polite kind and made it right no questions asked...they even gave us cheese cake cups for free and were so apologetic and kind....amazing employees and this restaurant is lucky to have them on their team....bravo and we will be back...i am so amazed at how kind these two were!!!! They deserve to be recognized for their hard work
Excellent Shawarma definitely top 3 in the city. And lovely customer service, they even gave my mom extra salad when she asked which was very nice. The platters are delicious!!Food: 4/5
The food was made fresh right in front of us. Flavors and food quality were very good and prices are reasonable. Staff was friendly and patient even while we changed our order a couple times. We will return.
Got the special platter with an extra order of kebab through Uber eats. Overall it was good, but I miiiight not order it again. Would get something with the Falafel or the shawarma again though. The chickpea salad was good--tasted a little "watery" at first but I mixed in some garlic sauce and it was good. I liked the shawarma-- some large chunks of chicken and tasted good. Can't speak to authenticity as I don't eat this often, but I liked it. The donair was good, but too salty. I did not care for the kebab. Hummus was also tasty and had a nice texture. I really liked the Falafel! One of the sauces spread over everything was a bit too salty, I found myself using the hummus to try and take the salt level down but it didn't quite work. Portions were great, I ate my fill and put a good portion in the fridge.
The shawarma here is good but the regular size is kind of small. Nice setting area, and a convenient location. Service was good and fast and the restaurant was clean but the only thing I didn’t really like was the burgers.
This is an initial review. The restaurant has only been open for three weeks. My favorites here were the poutine and the chicken wings! Fries come with everything and they are Delicious. I'm a big fan of Costco fries and they seem battered in that kind of way. Price point seems decent at around $12 some a bit higher and some lower $10-$15 for your main course choice of shawarma, burger, salad, etc, fries and a drink canned soft drink. I was told if you don't want it in a combo you could just get the entree for $3 less. I wasn't very hungry when I got there with my friends so I just sampled some of the food. Most of the food we ate was cold not the restaurants fault we waited to eat it so I don't want to comment on their not fresh stuff as we got it fresh. That wouldn't be fair to the restaurant. Parking is available in a large lot, but it was still pretty full when we went.
