We enjoyed our visit there. We came here for a light late lunch. Food was good. Price was good for so much food. The staffs were helpful and friendly. The restaurant was well maintained. Very surprised the restaurant still got a treasure box for kids I haven't seen it in any swiss chalet restaurant for a long time!! I recommend this restaurant!!
Wonderful management! I ordered from Uber and half my food never showed up. So the manger went out of his way to have my missing food delivered to me as soon as possible. Big thanks to the delivery driver as well! The food was hot and and fresh when it came. Tastes just as good as I was craving. I'm bad with remembering names but it was Sunday October 2 around 7:50pm when the whole delivery problem went down. Outstanding service. Will order again.
I sat down on opening day and also ordered takeout a couple weeks ago. Got the quarter-chicken dinner both times and both experiences were fantastic. The days of getting a high-quality meal in the Sault for less than $20 have returned! The manager was also very kind and came to our table to make sure everyone was happy with their meal. 10/10 will be returning.
We ordered more food, but forgot to take photos. The food was excellent and the service was good.Food: 5/5
Under the new management and after the reopen, the service level has dropped in this place. I went there to eat three consecutive days and ordered the same meal and got three different service experiences. There was no consistency in the level of service whatsoever. The first day, I got served in decent timely manner with perfect order. The second day it was busy but still got seated right away and just had to wait for a few minutes before I could order. The third day was the worst, I stood in line to be seated, my order was delayed and it came with the poor quality. I had to send it back and waiter actually argued with me about the quality before he took it back and fixed it. After finishing my meal, I had to sit there for 20 minutes before I could find a waiter and ask for the bill. Not impressed anymore. I used to love to eat in that place. Vegetarian options: The veggie burger used to be the best in town at this place but not anymore. The gravy that comes with fries is not vegetarian, so waiter should mention it to someone who orders vegetarian meal but some waiters don’t even know. Needs improvement in service level.
Had a reservation dinner at 5:00 pm, left 7:30 pm. Took 50 minutes to get the food . One patron did not get an item he ordered which we could not mention this since the server was not returning to ask if everything was okay. The fries were like mostly reheated wrinkled dried leftovers and dark colour, Definitely not the 'normal' it has been in the past. The chicken was fine. Food eaten and now waiting for server. Finally server returned , ordered the child dessert since it was a birthday celebration of a 6 year old and she was looking forward to this dessert. Waited another 15 minutes before she returned with it. We asked for the bill then since not knowing how long that might take. Being there for 2.5 hours is quite long for this type if eating establishment.
The wait is way too long. The waitresses are very kind but something is wrong in the kitchen. We waited over an hour for our food and by that time gave up and went somewhere else to eat. Management needs to learn how to set up cooking times and schedules better. It should not take that long to get your chicken when they are supposed to be placed on the rotisserie long before that. Better scheduling would allow for shorter wait times. I know because I used to work there 10 years ago. Other than that, the food normally tastes great. Kid-friendliness: The restaurant is very kid friendly, providing crayons, colouring menus, and toys.
Ordered delivery from this Swiss Chalet a few times since its reopening and glad to say food quality has been consistently hot and delicious each time. We also appreciated that they remained open during Rogers' last meltdown, although we had to pick up our order and pay in cash since their debit & credit card system was tethered to, you guessed it, Rogers. Hopefully they stick around this time understood its under new ownership
Myself, my daughter, and granddaughters arrived at Swiss Chalet around 2pm. I don't know if they were understaffed but maybe that should be relayed to patrons, so they are aware that there would be a wait. This was not mentioned at all. We got seated after 45 minutes of waiting. Not that I mind waiting but we were told by a server that he would be right back with menus and seat us, another 10 minute wait. We finally got seated, the server told us he would be back with menus, he never came back, my daughter got up and got us our menus. We waited again for a server. Our server came, he was very apologetic and took our orders. Not as attentive as he should have been, had to flag him down as he was walking by. We finished eating and waited again for our server to come back to take away plates and ask if we wanted dessert. Again waiting another 15 minutes before he came back to help the table next to us, so again I flagged him down for takeout containers, dessert and the bill. One of the worst experience I've had a a restaurant.
DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY. A simple sandwich with fries takes an hour to be delivered due to “system glitches”. This is the 4th time since reopening with new management that food has take a MINIMUM of an hour to be delivered. Also, it seems that if the meals aren’t being served in the restaurant, 2 flowerets of broccoli thrown on top of the meal constitutes “market vegetables”. It’s too bad the food actually tastes alright, because management doesn’t seems to care about their terrible quality control.
