Lots of unique and great gift ideas for the design/creative folks in your life! Definitely a place to stop by for that interesting gift for someone's birthday or Christmas. Love the professional graphic design related items and lots of diverse products from houseware, books, stationary, toys and greeting cards to name a few. Everything is well laid out and very nice showcase of the products. Also ask the staff if you need assistance, they can search up items on their computers!
I agree with all the comments: a unique gem for design / architecture books and that customer service could be better. The gal who I had asked help from today, Oct 27, 2022 at around 2:45pm to test the Blunt umbrella and Segrid wallet had her eyebrows furrowed the second time I asked for help coz some of the items are locked in a glass cabinet. For context, the items for sale have special mechanisms that are best appreciated by actually testing them out. It wasn’t busy at the store but she seems to be pressing something at the cashier screen by herself…either way, no customer should ever feel like they are bothersome to the staff. Anyway, I left with a unique Baggu 3D rainbow spiral 3-pack bag so I’m happy. This is my second time at the store. First time is ok; they let u roam around privately.
Anyone interested in design, unique objects, and unique books really needs to go here. It's a place where you easily get cought up browsing and find no shortage of things that would be neat to have. They sell quite a wide variety of things. Must see for yourself.
Fun little store, lots of art books, lots of local art prints and objects jewelry etc.. The person working was super friendly and, as with everyone I met in that building, very indulgent of all my many questions.
I used work out at the gym not to far from Swipe book store and I never noticed it before, until a good friend of mine told me about it. I had mentioned that I wanted to update my graphic design & illustration portfolio and I needed a design book or magazine for inspiration to get my creative juices flowing. I remember the first day my friend introduced me to this hidden gem, I just fell in love at first sight and I think we were there for over an hour. It's a very well-organized book store, the employees are always friendly & informative, I always find what I'm looking for and never leave empty-handed.
I didn't realize it's a bookstore initially since their window display didn't have many books, mostly just stuff. I have been passing by daily for almost a year now. I went inside for the first time because I saw a large sign "Bookstore" quite far away from it and started looking for it. They have so many books about design. All types of design, and workbooks to boost creativity, and just books about so many interesting things. I bought 3 different ones and I felt like a kid in a candy store. It's a little gem in the middle of the city.
Analogue heaven for design enthusiasts, a hidden gem tucked inside 401 Richmond St W in Toronto's Entertainment District a building full of art galleries, a cafe and a music museum. Be prepared to for indie bookstore prices - but with that comes superior customer service and product knowledge. They have a great collection of the latest and greatest design books and magazines, will also order almost everything for you, and even have a decent selection of toys, stationery items and other tchotchkes. It's an awesome place that ought to be supported!
Amazing selection of design books and objects. Great place if you're interested in architecture/graphic design/ object design. Great location in a unique building containing a gallery work spaces, the TTC store, and hipster coffee shop.
I highly recommended this store for anyone in the creative feild. Amazing books, products and birthday cards. The Books cover graphic design to architecture which are great for reference. some there products are from the online store "Area Wear" you can avoid shipping costs.
A nice curated selection of design-related things including books and writing/drawing supplies. I wish they had more notebooks and pens. There are some really nice metallic gadgets and watches in the glass display at front. 401 Richmond is a great building overall.
