Kol Kid is an independently run children's boutique located in the eclectic Queen Street West district. It opened its doors in 1999 and quickly flourished into a local hotspot for unique toys, clothing and functional kids items. Kol Kid is enjoyed by both young and old and offers the perfect environment in which to feed your imagination!

Having read some of the difficult experiences others have had with this store, I will qualify my rating by saying I have not been around a baby for decades, I was buying a sun hat the parents' wish for a month old baby, and I could not for the life of me translate clothing size to this tiny being. I explained my predicament to the staff and the two young women helped me buy the perfect adjustable hat with a rim that the parents were ecstatic about. Agreed, the store is not for the faint of wallet. And I don't know enough to comment on quality. But the sheer volume of cool baby clothes and toys and games made me want to buy everything.
By far the best kids store in downtown Toronto. My go to for baby shower and kids birthday/holiday gifts - there is always a wide selection of clothes and toys. When I had no clue what to buy a very smart 6 year old I asked one of the super friendly staff and they suggested a model of the solar system The 6 year old loved it - thx Kolkid!
I bought boots for my nephew. I got shipped that the boots were scratched and the warranty card was torn. I contacted customer service, but they were busy making excuses. did not take any action They told me about the torn card they sent. “still good for you” is this in good condition? Who wants to present a torn warranty card and scratched boots? I want to ask them. Would you like to receive such a terrible gift? Very worst and will never buy from here again. Never buy here. Worst.
We stopped by just as they were opening. We were let into the store while being informed by the person opening the door “they are just opening” as she walked away. We ran into a second person which I believe may be the owner based on the other reviews who gave us a cold stare as she went about her business. We eventually found what we needed and left. Least they could do is acknowledge their customer, let alone not making them feel as if they are getting in your way!
DO NOT COME HERE. Horrible customer experience. I've bought here a few times because of the gorgeous selection HOWEVER not worth AT ALL how abismal they treat the customers. It was either the store manager or owner who was hovering over my kids like they were gonna break or steal something and so I decided to only buy a small item for I did not want to invest in the store and she slid it to my kid across the counter saying "here" in a disrespectful way. I would suggest going instead to: Advice From a Caterpillar, Early Bird and Worm, West Coast Kids or Snuggle Bugz for kid items. NOT HERE. Will never come again and will advise all my friends not to come.
I am writing this to show my appreciation to the staff a Kolkid. I am a single male who went to pick up a gift for a friend who just had a baby. As a single guy I really did not have any idea of what I was looking for or what to buy. The staff went above and beyond and were extremely generous with their time helping me find an approriate gift. What really impressed me was that they asked me many questions about what my friends tastes were, things I never would have thought of.The end result was my friend was very happy with their gift and I was very happy with the customer service at KolKid. Will recommend KolKid to all I know.
What i love about kol kids is how fast they process they're online orders! We don't live in toronto anymore but I still order items from here. It's common for items to do and be delivered in days! Even outside the GTA
Very impressed by the service at Kol Kid. I placed an order online over Easter weekend, they called me 5 mins after to see if I will be accepting packages over the weekend. I was able to get my child's toy the next day delivered at no extra cost! They even packaged it in a nice bag with tissue paper. Very surprised and happy about their service and going the extra mile.
Love this shop. Spent an hour looking for gifts for my nieces and nephews but came away with a gift for myself - the most stunning toy car. Such a huge selection of toys and practical bits and bobs here. Also awesome book selection. Staff are friendly and chatty and the space is big and well laid out.
Made an online order, based off a Google search. I'm relatively familiar with the store, I live about 45 minutes north of Muskoka so we ordered the item shipped. The item was not the same as what it was advertised on Google, which is not the store's fault. The item arrived very quickly which was awesome, we then asked if we could return the item which they said we could minus the cost of shipping which was also okay even though it cost us more to ship it back but that's not their problem either. I packaged the item the same way that I received it and they said In an email that they were unable to return my money because the item returned damage. That's not my fault, that has to do with the way that they packaged it. So I advise them that it be my last time ever using their store and it was only that that they took the liberty of conveniently reviewing the security cameras to find out that I was not lying to them and did ultimately issue a refund which is still pending. I don't appreciate being accused of misleading a store because that's not what I do, though I understand in the current atmosphere there are individuals who will do that. But not believing your customer would never stating to you it was an employee's error originally It's just left a bitter taste in my mouth and I will not be returning
