Swinging Bridge Campground

Very well maintained campground located across highway 55 from the Payette River. A small creek runs through the campground and a couple trails that lead up the mountain.

I hate leaving a review for a campsite because it’s not really a business but I wanted to make sure and point out how unreliable some of these other Google reviews are to Swinging Bridge in Idaho. First, Swinging Bridge is a nice, pretty, small, very well-maintained campground. The only bad thing is that it is right off the busy touristy highway and VERY noisy with traffic. Having said that, any reviews that indicate there’s quick access to swimming or that there are trails to walk/hike or that there is a lake are terribly inaccurate. Not sure if there’s a campground of the same name in another state but those reviews are not for this one. There are no lakes or walking trails immediately nearby and the closest swimming is a calm spot in the river about 10 miles away, and the beach is so small with limited fee parking so if you don’t show up in the morning it will be full. Just do your research outside of Google reviews if you’re planning to stay at Swinging Bridge!

Got in just before dark. Last spot, #11. Loved the privacy of this site, honestly my favorite of all of them after I looked the next morning. The campground host was amazing. She even had bundles of wood to sell for those like us who forgot to bring firewood. Stunning flowers and landscape. Great landscape. Only downside is that it's very close to the road, but it is tolerable.

Great little camping spots! All kinds of trails and things to explore.

I’ve never camped here, but I’ve come here a couple times to fish or walk the dogs. No cell phone reception Verizon, but then, you’re in nature. Just, in case of emergencies. Came sites look nice and big, they come with fire pits already made. Restroom nearby and trash cans. It’s a pretty spot to walk around

Camper for 4 days. Clean toilets and camping. Fished the Payette River there.

Most sites are first come first serve. We found a site on Memorial day weekend! Down side it that it's right next to the highway and on a passing lane. Car traffic is loud and constant. Out house is a vault toilet, but kept very clean.

Most camps are on a slight slope, pretty noisy from the road, most slots are tough to fit even a small trailer without hanging into the road, good thing is a complete loop with in the camp

Very nice campground. Kim, the camp host, is very nice and helpful. Fire pits are nicely set up as well. We would definitely go there again.

Had a blast.. Stayed for 3 days. Didn't want to leave! Our camp host. Traci, was absolutely fantastic. We will definitely be back!
