Inn at Lake Joseph

About

An inn for all seasons in the Sullivan County Catskills.

Story

Located high in the Catskill Mountains on a 250-acre private lake about two hours from New York City, the Inn at Lake Joseph features just 16 guestrooms.

Like resort lodging, the Inn provides a variety of summer and winter recreational facilities, including the use of a nearby full-service health and fitness club. But unlike larger hotels, the Inn is an informal, casual country retreat that assures guests a relaxing, private, rustic mountain lake environment.

The area is really very fresh and welcoming coming from the busy Jersey suburbs. The lake and hiking trails are beautiful. The rooms are cozy but also very extravagant, there's lots a character to everything at the Inn and the people are very welcoming and friendly. The perks are all included as well, coffee and snacks in the kitchen 24/7, games and outdoor activities too like boats and badminton are all included as well. It very much feels like staying with family, but the service is never overbearing. Definitely plan on coming back soon.

This was our first time at the inn and we couldn't have been more happy! We don't make tons of money or drive an expensive car but we were treated no different. The price was more than we would normally spend but decided to treat ourselves. The only thing we actually spent money on was our dinners. So in all actuality the price was very reasonable for all that was included. We stayed in the Tudor suite which was in the old carriage house but was unbelievably clean especially from such an old building. We plan to return sometime in the future and would highly recommend this place to anybody who just wants to get away.

This is the best b&b in the Catskills. My wife and I have been here three times in the last two years. Breakfast is great and lunch is available to make for yourself in the kitchen. The lake is gorgeous. Be sure to get a fishing license at Walmart on the way. They have kayaks and rowboats. In the winter you can snowshoe and cross country ski. The restaurants nearby are very good for dinner. The staff here is wonderful. Michelle, Rue, and Matt will take good care of you any time day or night. Seriously, go here for a nice weekend you won't forget.

Quiet resort with upscale amenities including row boats, kayaks, and bicycles. Fantastic made to order breakfast. Soaking tub, fireplace and sleep number bed in our room made for a relaxing trip and we can't wait to go back!

My girlfriend and I took a row boat out on the lake. By no means was it my first time rowing a boat. The weather started to get bad... the sky went black and it poured on us and there was a potential for thunder and lighting (which in a metal boat on the lake is dangerous). The current of the lake pulled us. The ore holder broke, making it impossible to row the boat back to the dock. We called for assistance. First, we stated we were in the middle of the lake. The response took so long and during that time we were pulled to the side. We called several more times to let the staff know we were off to the side of the lake. The "wanna be rescue" boat, who didn't even work for the inn.... slowly traveled down the wrong side of the lake and failed to see us. He should have traveled in the middle of the lake, this is just common sense. The amount of time it took for someone to tow us was really sad and absolutely poor. You have a lake, there should be procedures in place for the quick response of a rescue boat. As if this all wasn't bad enough, between the faulty equipment and slow response. The man who towed us back to shore couldn't keep his mouth shut. He made comments such as "I hope this wasn't a first date, because you weren't very impressive" there was no need for any of those comments to be made. It was rude, unprofessional, and made the entire trip a disgusting experience. I don't need to have another man talk down to me in front of my fiancé because we couldn't row back. It's not like it was our fault the ore holder snapped.
