October 2021. 4.5 A small storefront located in a primarily industrial setting uncannily you stumble across a dessert/cake store. Honestly didn't know what to expect given the location, but reading the other reviews, I decided to swing by. The Raspberry Hazelnut Meringue cake is one that is recommended and most talked about by other reviewers. Given it'll be my first time here, I decided to try that. The owner did state that this cake was their best seller. The Raspberry Hazelnut Meringue cake comes out frozen. Defrost time in room temperature is about an hour. In the fridge, the owner says about 3 hours. The cake comes in 2 sizes, a 10 serving at $33 and 16 serving at $50. The appearance of the cake is honestly isn't that appealing. Cream and some raspberries on top. Leftover bits of meringue cover the sides. The Meringue is amazingly light and fluffy. The cake is not to sweet and the layers of meringue, raspberries and creme are a perfect combination. Just enough tartness and sweetness balance everything out. Would come again.

Just the other day I asked my soon 15-year old what cake he would prefer for his birthday and he responded with "Surprise me with a cake we haven't had before." As I brainstormed through all the options at our go-to cake destination "Sweet-O-One", I realized that over years we've tried all their sumptuous offerings! In addition to raspberry meringue cake & Baisers that reviewers rave about, there are a few other "gems". Their chilled cheesecake is divine- not overly sweet but yet fluffy and decadent. That one is always a crowd-pleaser, especially with kids. I personally love their frozen lemon cake. Who would have thought that a dairy free, gluten free cake could taste that good! They also have a "secret cake", that is not published on the website but you could do a special advance order for. I think it's mango-passion fruit type of mousse cake that is sugarless, dairy-free, gluten-free, organic and tastes DIVINE! In addition to their high quality, reasonably-priced cakes and pastries, we have been loyal clients of Sweet-O-One for many years because of their superb customer service. Both Tanya and Sergey are incredibly responsive and friendly. They do everything in their power to accommodate our sometimes unusual requests. I will never forget how they once baked a specialized "Mardi Gras" cake for our party, complete with a surprise toy inside!

Excellent vanilla/lime and raspberry lactose free birthday cake! My sister and brother in law surprised me with this beautiful but delicious birthday cake! I will definitely purchase from here! The cake was light mouse with great taste of raspberry lime and vanilla! Five out of five stars! It’s really hard to find great bakery that does desserts for people’s with dietary restrictions

This place is a hidden gem! The owner was very approachable -- he took the time to explain some desserts and gave recommendations, and the choices were all delicious. Full of flavour and not overly sweet. Can't wait to try some more.

At first I thought that there was no way it could live up to the hype of a perfect google score, and then I ate the cakes. It does. If I hadn't been in the neighbourhood, just searching nearby businesses, I never would have found this gem. You can't see it from the street. You have to actively hunt them down. I'm so glad that I did but also sad that I've missed out on years of not eating more their cakes! It was all so beautiful but they tasted even better. I picked out six assorted cakes and each one was even better than the last. Honey walnut cake? Delicious. With the prunes, holy cow, who knew prunes could taste so good? But the winner by far was the egg. It was so, so beautiful. Cut it in half and look at the attention to detail in the speckling of the chocolate shell, the bailey's "egg white" and the really tart and flavourful "yolk" that was this vibrant citrus gel. It was one of the best bakery experiences I have had in a while. Please go and eat the cake.

The raspberry meringue cake from here is always a hit, no matter who I’ve served it to! It also makes for great leftovers, so buy a size up : I’ve also tried the honey cake, and the plum cake - also excellent!!

Amazing! The Ideal cake is one of the best I’ve had in Toronto. The l’oeuf a la creme is unbelievably good. I can’t wait to try their other cakes and the meringue. This place is a hidden gem!

The best bakery in town! I come here every other week and we also got a cake for Christmas and New Year. Both cakes were a hit. Highly recommend.

Our go to for pastry, sweets and cake shop! Great people! Always very friendly and helpful. Love the addition of the seasonal items for take away. The Foresta was amazing! Love their rum ball and the frozen meringue cake is a favourite. Excited to try the new flavours but the classic raspberry is hard to pass on. Last bonus is the on-site expression machine! Love me a double expresso! If you haven’t already…. Give them a try!
