Such a great place for fine dining. love the Shirako and the Uni Sushi! and the scallop roll! and the tuna roll! I really enjoyed the dinner tonight. Thank you chef!
Chef Vincent Gee has one of the most inconspicuous restaurant fronts I've ever seen, blink and you might miss it as you're driving by. Step inside you'll find a beautiful space with a small 7-seat counter. Chef Gee brings all the skills that he has learned over the past 20 years at some of the city's finest sushi spots to his small 7 seater restaurant. He's very engaging and will take the time to talk about his techniques and tell you where the fish is sourced from as he gently places each piece in front of you. There are only two seatings per night and it costs $150/person. Every bite was absolutely delicious and I'd definitely go back. Not only is the food outstanding but service is impeccable. It's definitely worth the drive to Scarborough
Intimate Edomae-style omakase experience. Fresh ingredients and a knowledgeable chef. My menu featured cured elements ranging from weeks to months of age.
One of the best omakase in Toronto. Food was amazing. Went for the sake and wine pairing event and the whole meal was absolutely perfect.
One if the most unique omakase experiences I have had in GTA. The use of squash, smoked bonito, squid, and roasted soy Gelato made the experience worth while! It's a shame he is closing in April but will definitely the chefs future restaurant.
I have had the fortune of doing dine in when it was available, as well as ordering their delicious takeout dons that you can find on their instagram. Chef Vincent knows his stuff. The Shari is of a really high quality and all of the Neta is delicious as well. It's nice to know that even during a pandemic, it's simple to get high quality food with friendly service. Can't wait to be able to eat here again when dine in opens back up.
Sushi Nishinokaze is truly a hidden gem in uptown Toronto/Scarborough. Do not let the "ghetto plaza" location stop you from enjoying the amazing food. From the moment you enter the restaurant, you are greeted with the cozy and intimate setting. Our host Hitomi-san was very friendly and she made sure everyone's tea was warm and refilled throughout the meal. Sous chef Brandon was attentive and helped to ensure everyone's plates always had the pickled cucumber and ginger to cleanse the palate. Chef Vincent was really knowledgeable and you can tell he is truly passionate about what he does. He was a little shy at first but we got to talk more during the dinner. He explained to us how he has been making little adjustments to the menu and even down to how he marinates the rice and fish since the restaurant's soft opening, to guarantee every single customer leaves the restaurant physically and emotionally satisfied. This was hands down one of the best edomae sushi omakase experience I've had, and I look forward to returning again in the future.
Delicious edomae style Omakase in an unassuming plaza in Scarborough! All of the ingredients high quality and aged to perfection.
A terrific authentic meal. Delicious from start to finish. Will definitely be booking another seating with friends.
Highly recommend this omakaze sushi spot, it’s truly a hidden gem. I had a great time everytime
