Sunlight Chinese Food

This was my our 1st time trying their food. Fried chicken and rice was delicious, deep fried chicken wings was not bad, General Tso's chicken was good as well. Shrimp dish was kind of disappointment it could have been better. Over all the food was not bad. Look like it’s a small family owned businesses give them a try.

We got dinner here recently and really enjoyed it. Didn't feel sick after and it was just a great option. I liked that not everything was breaded or overly saucy. That's nice when you're looking for a somewhat healthier option.

Walked in at 9:20pm and ordered take out. Food was ready in less than 15 minutes. Everything was very fresh. Ordered comber number 3&4. Also got egg drop soup. Can't wait to come back. So much food for a good price.Recommended dishesCombo 4

We decided to try Sunlight after being disappointed with our usual Chinese take-out restaurant. The food was delicious, so much better than the other place. It was ready quickly and the cashier was friendly. Will definitely go back.

Loved the quality and flavour of their dishes. We had spring rolls, General Tsao Chicken. Chicken Lo Mein and their House Rice. Excellent! Will be regulars.

My favorite Chinese food in the city! So good! Big portions for good prices!

Do not order from here. The owner is exceptionally rude and will not fix your order even when he gets it wrong. And he will hang up the phone in your face.

* Prices in testimonial were during Sept/Oct 2022 I would rate 3 but one of the drivers is really super nice so gave them 4 Sunlight Chinese food does the deliveries themselves free with $25+ purchase, which is nice not having to pay the increased prices & delivery charges associated with the 3rd party involvement such as Uber eats, Door dash, and Skip the dishes Their food is not quite as good as you get at The Mandarin, but then again, you're not paying Mandarin prices either! You *do* get fair value for what you pay for, tho ***The Good, The "Meh", & The Bad*** The Good: The deep fried chicken wings $12.50 were really delicious - will buy again! They lack crispiness, but overall have a good flavour, and you get an equal amount mini drumettes to wings 6 of each. I reccomend "Dinner for one - combo #6" $12.50 = a chicken lo mein thin noodle that seems to have been fried with a dark sauce + 6 chicken wings. The pork fried rice was good $9, especially after I poured some of the liquid / sauce from another container over it & then microwaved it for a couple minutes I always do that when fried rice tastes dry. I really enjoyed the plain chow mein $7 & the mixed vegetables $9 = a mix of broccoli, bok choi, and onion pcs. Their Singapore noodles $14 are a thin vermicelli coated with a mild curry + mixed with pork slices & shrimp... always a hit in my home. The "Meh" The curry mixed vegetables were ok $9.50, but had a slight bitter taste.... I would get the ordinary mixed veg next time $9 The egg rolls $1.50 for 1 were ok, but filling had no cabbage / was pretty much just bean sprouts... I would get the crispy spring rolls $2.50 for 2 instead next time. The Tai Dop Voy $13.50 = various meats on vegetables... was bit of a let down as there were only 4 or 5 pcs of medium-sized shrimp, which had a somewhat musty flavour from freezer?... aside from the shrimp, the dish, itself, was not too bad. The Cantonese chow mein noodles $15.50 was similar to the Tai Dop Voy $13.50, but had a titch more meat and was on a "soft" aka sticky, boiled / not fried lo mein noodle instead of being on vegetables. The Guyana style special mixed meat on fried rice $12 was not the usual Chinese fried rice, but were more swollen & grainy = very unusual. The Bad: I would not reccomend the Guyana style special mixed meat on lo mein $12.50 with it's thick noodles -- it's spaghetti noodles, but with gravy on it -- really strange! And various meats too, of course. The fried chicken not wings & french fries $11.50 was a disaster! The chicken was over-cooked & totally dried out, so the crispy outside was rock hard, almost burnt. And I assume the oil for the fries was not hot enough I don't know if they turn on fryer as needed? because the fries had absorbed a ton of oil & were soggy. The next time I got the fries $6, I asked them to make them "well done / cook longer" and they were edible, but not great... just kind of ok. The 3rd time I got fries with wings $12, again asking for the fries cooked well done, they overcooked the wings instead, and I got another batch of soggy, oily fries. I give up on their fries. The onion rings $6 are breaded & commercially made... so dry. Not good at all. The so-called "Pad Thai" $13 was unlike any Pad Thai that I've ever had before & did *not* have any traditional pad thai sauce... it was pretty much just noodles with crushed hot chilis. I'm not sure if the pad thai noodles were precooked? and left too long? because something tasted a little "off" and nobody wanted to eat any after tasting. Conclusion: All-in-all it's hit or miss, depending on what dishes you select. -------- The $41 price for the "family combo for 3" works out 16% cheaper than when ordered singularly $4.50 for 3 eggrolls + $12 chicken balls + $11 chicken chow mein + $12.50 deep fried chicken wings + $9 pork fried rice + $? fortune cookies = $49 Bon appetit!

Friendly staff. Good size portions. Reasonable prices. One of the best Chinese restaurants in Brampton.Food: 5/5

Been going here for about 12-15 years. Never had better Chinese food than sunlight! Love these guys
