Went for the first time the other day, I was pleasantly surprised! Not too expensive from what I saw, and if I had to give a comparison, I'd say it's like an Asian version of Trader Joe's! They've got some private-label brands with having this sort of small, local market feeling. I don't believe their bakery items are baked in-store, but they were still delicious, as with almost any Chinese bakery.
The shop is clean and bright, making it particularly comfortable to browse around.
The store is spacious and clean. We went on a weekday so there weren't many people around. The store is a little out of the way from many of the other stores in Richmond. They have free parking, working wifi, and accept credit cards. When I went the bathroom was dirty. Hopefully they have someone clean it better and more frequently
Yesterday afternoon around 7:30, I bought quite a few items including a tray of eggs. At the cashier, there was a chubby young man wearing glasses. While I was loading my groceries, I said to him: excuse me, I need to dash to my car to get a bag and I will be back soon. In less than a minute, I returned and saw the bill amounting to $69.34. I was a bit surprised and I said to him: this is expensive. The cashier replied, “ a lot of stuff “. After I swiped my card and got my bill, I had a look and saw that I had been charged twice $16.49 x 2 ! Obviously, knowing that I was not present on site, he charged the tray of eggs twice ! So treacherous and devious ! Worse than this, when I pointed out, the cashier was trying to deny ! I was furious. I had to wait for ten minutes to get the refund of $16.49. And he never apologized. I need to check whether or not the refund went through. What a stab in the back !
