Sumas Mountain Inter-Regional Park

It's an amazing place for me around Abby! The hike to the Sumas is perfect, with Chadsey lake as a pitstop. There are 2 lookout points at the top, do no forget to check out both. Panoramic view of the whole valley with the Frazer River!!

Unfortunately, the Sumas Mountain trail head noted on Taggart Road by the communication towers is blocked by a heavy gate adding about 1.5k to the hike to Chadsey Lake. "Moderate" trail had a very good hill descending to the lake.

Great place to go for walk or bike ride. You might find garbage along the trail in some spots. Beautiful view from the summit.

This is like a giant playground right in our backyard! I feel so blessed to live in a place where we set aside and maintain areas like this for all to enjoy free of charge. I really enjoy hiking through the many trails in this park. There are some pretty spectacular mountain bike trails too. Chadsey Lake is amazing! Definitely worth the visit. God bless.

Great hike in Abbotsford. The higher you drive up the rocky road, the easier the hike will be because you ascend less. We started at the main parking lot approximately 4km up. It was a very beautiful hike. Theres a lake in the middle called chadsey lake you can swim in. Then landscape changes a lot during the hike and there is never a dull moment. And obviously the view is phenomenal up there

Enjoyed the hike immensely though it was pretty muddy after all the rain. More people than I expected and some totally unprepared for the terrain and conditions. It is a lovely hike though and will be back.

Great little adventure! Chadsy is fantastic as always! The cliff has lots of garbage now from all the kids partying! Otherwise worth the adventure

The trail up seems to be made for 4x4s so a lot of nature is cleared for a wide path.. mountains meant for hikers more early are more enjoyable and preferable
