Edit: I went back to Suika again and its still one of the best Izakayas in Vancouver. I love every dish they've prepared. Value for money is good. Make your reservation ahaead as the place always gets filled up.
I absolutely loved the curry rice at this restaurant. The open kitchen concept not only added to the dining experience but also showcased the cleanliness of their cooking area, which I greatly appreciated. It’s refreshing to see the care they put into maintaining a hygienic and inviting environment. This place is definitely worth recommending, especially for anyone who enjoys a good curry.
I recommend the carbonara udon it was creamy and flavourful but not fillingnthe curry didn’t taste that good at all taste like home made box curry . The service is really good they make sure to fill your cup with water many times without you asking them . The front staffs are actually Japanese which feels authentic . They make birthday really fun . There is street parking for $1 an hour .
The oxtail ramen was good size for lunch, but would have not cut it for dinner. I'm not sure if the teeny, tiny dish of uni is supposed to cost $17. At least it was fresh.
Drink: lychee yuzu mocktailnFood: chirashi don and 5 kinds of sashimi 25 pcnnOut of all the sister restaurants, this one is my favourite. I recommend you try the sashimi!nnIt is quite busy and when it’s someone’s birthday, the lights go out for a second while servers cheer and bang a drum. It is very fun but the entire restaurant is overall very loud the entire night. If you like social restaurants this is the place to be but if you prefer a meal where you can hear your dinner guests, I would suggest maybe going at an earlier time I went at 8 so maybe go around 5:30?.
