As a non-Japanese, this is the authentic Japanese restaurant experience I’m looking for. Delicious Japanese food with a slight twist of local taste, I’m definitely returning in the future.nnWe had lunch on a Sunday, at 2pm all signature specials are sold out already. Ordered a yuzu cream cheese that’s amazing, also the signature kaisen bowl, amazing look and amazing flavor. Yuzu parfait is also delicious.
Food were amazing! Of all that we ordered, uni udon was my favorite! It was so creamy and the uni didn’t overwhelmed. The chirashi don were great too and their best dessert is definitely the ichigo daifuku!nServices are amazing, like real Japanese service. Really enjoyed dining here!
Went here with my husband while we were on a work trip and I was blown away! He’d been here before and was excited to take me. I’m 26 weeks pregnant and was completely comfortable eating their sushi. It was so fresh, no fishy taste and it melted in your mouth. It was delicious. Then I had the spicy miso pork udon and my husband had the lobster udon. Both were so rich and delicious. The noodles were the perfect texture and the broth and toppings paired so well. Obviously it is on the pricier side, but in my opinion it is completely worth it for a special meal or once in a while. Will definitely be back!
Raisun6/10nnPart of the same restaurant group as Kingyo and Suika, Raisu is known for its bentos and aesthetic Japanese dishes. Unfortunately, they ran out when I was there, so we decided to try their cooked options instead. Overall, it was a decent experience, but nothing really stood out to me.nnBeef Steak Hitsumabushi $30
Essentially beef with fried rice served in a hot stone pot. I liked that they served it with dashi broth, as it slightly reminded me of ochazuke—not to mention it’s fun to enjoy a dish in multiple ways. I would have preferred a more flavourful profile I found the fried rice a bit bland, but the beef was high quality.nnThe Oyako Simmered Chicken Cutlet $21
A typical comfort dish with beautiful plating. I personally prefer when the cutlet is placed on top of the rice so it can soak up more of the sauce, instead of how it was prepared here. The portion, however, is huge.nnAtlantic Salmon Sashimi $18
Pretty good salmon sashimi. Not much to say other than it was fresh—though you could probably get something similar elsewhere at a more affordable price.
Raisu was such a pleasant dinning experience, the ambiance was welcoming and the service was amazing. The food was great. I got the Spicy Miso Nabeyaki Udon Soup and it was delicious. My friends had the Aburi Sushi and the Pork Cullet Curry Udon, both very good as well. Our waitress Manami was there to help us decide what we wanted and provided us with to go boxes and extra water promptly, very professional and nice. The bathroom was also very clean and stocked with amenities, you can they care about their clients, great staff and spot.
