4/5nnI went to Nana’s Green Tea on West 4th Avenue with my friend on Friday night, and overall it was a really nice experience. We ordered the parfait and a matcha latte, and both tasted great. The matcha latte was rich and smooth, not too sweet, and you can really taste the matcha. The parfait was beautifully presented and had a good balance of matcha, cream, and textures—definitely satisfying if you’re a matcha lover.nnThat said, I’m giving it four stars mainly because of the price and portion size. The matcha latte was about $8 CAD and the parfait was $18 plus tax, which honestly is a bit steep. For that price, I could almost get a simple dinner elsewhere. The portions also aren’t very big for what you’re paying.nnOverall though, it’s still a good spot for indulgence. I’d come here as a once-a-month or once every two months treat rather than a regular visit, since the desserts do taste great and the vibe is nice.
Nana’s Green Tea moved from Kerrisdale to West 4th Ave, taking over the former Zubu Food Hall space. Open late until midnight, it’s the perfect spot for a post-dinner dessert run. The Yuzu Cheesecake is dense, rich, and indulgent, while the Matcha Tiramisu is light, creamy, and gently sweet. Best enjoyed with a cup of Ujicha Green Tea and their Cold Brew Hojicha Roasted Green Tea—comforting and balanced.
Great spot for matcha! Was a little out of the way to the main tourist things we were doing but it was worth the walk!nWent within the first hour of opening and ordered the matcha shiratama float and a hojicha float and impressed by both.nOrdered through a self serve kiosk and order came out quickly.nWill visit again when in Vancouver again!
Very good matcha desserts. Everything we tried taste really good and not too sweet. The staffs were very friendly. The atmosphere is nice and quiet.nThey also have foods on the menu but we haven't tried. They do have promotion on selected foods and drink during lunch time.nDefinitely worth checking this place if you are matcha fan.
Love their cakes, especially the tiramisu and cheesecake. I didn’t try the matcha because I came late and was worried it’d keep me up all night, so I went with hojicha instead. A little too sweet for my liking, but they added plenty of ice so it eventually balanced out.nnOverall, good but expensive imo, not something I’d treat myself to often if I want to protect my wallet.nnI did make the mistake of trying their sparkling matcha in Japan and it was… disastrous I noticed the same drink on the menu here, so I’m still debating whether I should give it another shot.
