Best chocolate in town. I’ve seen the reviews and some say there’s a smell. Yes there is!! Of sweet sweet chocolate. As soon as you walk in the store you will be mesmerized with the amount of options ranging from gluten free options to dairy free, even in the cakes. My favourite chocolate bar is Caramel milk chocolate and my favourite truffle is the raspberry champagne.
I was gifted a small box of chocolate. I was amazed by the look and taste of it, I had to give a review. I walked multiple times in front of the store but never went inside, I will make sure to stop by next time. The chocolate tastes exquisite!
Went by to try a cake. We got the Pistachio/Mango/Chocolate - definitely unique. Won’t be getting it again, but that’s because we’re looking forward to trying another of their 32 cakes! Staff was very friendly and answered any questions we had as this was our first time visiting. Though the chocolate is very expensive, there’s no question in regards to their artistry and quality! Excited to try new things when we visit again
Looking for something special? You must go. My wedding cake was designed by Chef Stubbe more than 25 years ago. I can still describe it to a 'T'. Accompanied by raspberry white chocolate truffles, I'll never forget the care and quality touch the cake and truffles added to our wedding. My anniversary is coming up. Sounds like a trip to Stubbe would be in order!
The chocolates are good but a very mismanaged place. The girl at the front charged me wrongly twice, each time missing items from my order. Overcharged me both times and I had to go all the way back to get the items they missed. I thought it was the Christmas rush last time, but this time the store was empty and they still couldn’t get my order correct. Huge letdown given all the good reviews here. Unless you have the time and patience to deal with the staff’s incompetence, it’s much better to take your business elsewhere for similar price and quality.
I was gifted a box of chocolates yesterday. They were so amazing! Delicious, smooth, flavorful!! I wish I hadn’t eaten them so quickly! Can’t wait to get more.
Early January 2023 I went to your store TWICE and it was closed during the day. On the first visit, I just assumed everyone had left for the day as it was only about 20 minutes till closing. Only on the second time, much earlier in the day, did I notice the small sign on the door saying you were completely closed until 9 or 10th of January? You need to find a way to indicate that on Google maps if possible. If your chocolates were not as good as they are, I would not have gone back a second time, so that speaks for itself.
This is an excellent chocolate shop. I've gone to Soma in Toronto, LA Burdick in the US, and have tried a ton of other small speciality chocolate shops across North America. This store truly stands up to the best. The truffles especially special milk and special dark are incredible special, their orange chocolate is fabulous. This store is expensive, but I'd take 4 truffles from Stubbe over a 1LB chocolate bar from the grocery store any day. The items they make are so special.
Amazing selection of chocolate and very helpful and friendly staff! Cakes and chocolates are delicious. Especially love the hot chocolate. There is free WiFi in the store and a small cozy seating area with 3 tables so you can enjoy your hot chocolate right on the spot. The owner is super nice and welcoming. I would love to come back to this store. I like the fact that it is family owned and they actually take care of their customers. Too bad the store is moving out from the downtown area.
The best of the best… for people who truly enjoy quality!
