This was a really nice surprise today when looking for somewhere I could rest for a bit while waiting to pick up someone at Ottawa University. There's shade, trails, benches and a pedestrian bridge over the Rideau River. I wasn't there long, but it's a really pretty nature spot. I believe it's connected to other trails as well. Pics are from the bridge. I'm unclear on whether parking is free or not. There was a 2 hour parking sign but also a notice about pass holders.
this park is absolutely stunning in all seasons. living only a 2 minute walk from this place was such a luxury.. plenty of benches, open space, and a playground area make it the perfect relaxation/hangout spot.
Beautiful park, very cool apocalyptic style art installation, ply ground with swings, paths along the water.. but a no dog sign $120 fine sign posted.nPancake loved the art installation ;
Nice walking trail of strathcona park along river banks. I enjoyed it. So many people sitting there and enjoying themselves.
This looks like it used to be a nice park in the middle of downtown Ottawa. During the summer it's a nice place to visit depending on the events going on in the park, which range from benign/unobtrusive to overwhelming and impossible to ignore. The children enjoyed the swings, though many of the areas are teeming with geese excrement and that of other creatures.
