This is one of those places that is consistently good when you have a picky group that all want different types of drinks. They have lots of options and all are consistently enjoyable. Have I had better? Yes, but both drinks and food are of a quality that can please any groups for a Happy Hour or spur of the moment hunger fix. I personally love the brisket nachos as a filling and delectable option.
This place is wonderful! The food is excellent, and the beer is the best we've found as a microbrewery. Not too many breweries offer a hefeweizen, but they do. It is very good too. Also tried a rye beer which was also very good. I tried the brisket, and pulled pork sandwich, with fries. Both were awesome. The barbecue sauce they offer is really tasty too. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. It wasn't as trendy as some of the other breweries, but that was appreciated. Such a great place. Go there! You won't be disappointed!
A very high 4-star, like 4.45 or so. The food is a 5-star if you like BBQ this is a good one. The service is great. Their beer is, well, decent, but not 5-stars - and you can get 5-star beer in walking distance. That said, you can also get 3-star beer in walking distance. This is a somewhat qualified review as it is the 3rd time at this place, I have tried a few things on the menu and all are very good. Also, thanks to very helpful staff and friends sharing, I have tried any beer I care to of their beers. Definitely recommend.
Super fun place. The staff was superior to most and the beer was pretty damn good too. I highly recommend the brisket nachos. They also have a really fun patio, fire pits, yard games, and all. Well worth the stop.
Friday Evening, Large patio and plenty of air-conditioned seating inside. Had Burnt Ends and Brisket plates. The food was good but would not say special or intersting. THE 18% gratuity wilth no other options was a turn off. The Coffee stout was good. Parking was difficult, $6.00 several blocks away in public lot. Nice place for locals to get to. There are plenty of more interesting experiences to try than to return.
Have been here several times. Beer is solid and BBQ is solid. Ordered the brisket nachos and received corn chips with no brisket. Do you see the brisket in the photos? No. Because there is none. Took them to the kitchen to let them know they forgot the brisket. They told me they had chili brisket on them. I didn’t order chili brisket nachos, I ordered brisket nachos. Do you know what most places call nachos with no visible brisket or flavor? You call them nachos. If your nachos have a ratio of pinto beans to brisket of 100:1, you should be honest and call your nachos just nachos.
I enjoy this place! Food is delicious! Great beer! Great drinks! We go out after work quite a bit! We love to try new places but always return to this local spot. Never a disappointment. Inside dinning outside dining games! They check all the boxes! Walking distance to Wolves games Twin games and the Vikings!
Very nice place in Minneapolis to visit for lunch or dinner or just to drink a beer with friends. The vibe of the place was on point and the staff were super friendly. They have a nice large patio and fire pit with plenty of seating. It is a dog friendly patio as well. They have a large beer selection also a large bbq selection. Only thing is we went around 6:30 and they were out of brisket and chicken I believe, very disappointing. The food we did order was decent bbq, not my favorite but it wasn’t the worst. Cons: ribs were served lukewarm, they only have one type of bbq sauce which wasn’t all that, also the smoked margarita drink was very overpriced for the flavor and size could just be the bartender. Other than those things the place was a nice date night. It is right next Number Twelve Cider which is my preference over IPAs and Stouts so that’s a nice bonus. They also have patio games like corn hole and giant jenga. It is walking distance for the twins stadium and other breweries in NE so give it a try if you are in the neighborhood. They should consider adding mac and cheese to the menu.
We had a great date night at StormKing! We tried the Perfect Storm meal and have tons of leftovers, we liked all the beers we tried, and liked the cocktails too. The staff was great and very knowledgeable; be sure to ask them if you have questions about which drinks are sugary, what's gluten free, etc. The picture I'll post is of our meal AFTER we were mostly full, that's how much food it was!
Smelled AMAZING going in. Great selection of beers and cocktails. I went in for the BBQ as I've heard great things and it is near my home. Overall, great, friendly people and the flavors are delicious. I was a bit disappointed at all the fat...I'm sharing a picture of it. The bottom piece had even more fat, however, again the flavor and crust were amazing. I also had the beans and potato salad.. Priced well considering the sides that come with the Brisket Plate. I understand sometimes you can't control the cut of meat so they will get another opportunity.
