Had the chicken fried steak on a biscuit today and it was fantastic! I hesitate to call it a sandwich. But it really doesn’t matter. Steak was well breaded and tenderized nicely. Gravy was flavorful and a nice consistency. Not too thick. Biscuit was a nice component and clearly not an afterthought. I think I saw a drizzle of honey too. Will definitely order again!
woweeee this place slaps! really loved everything i tried! the cajun boiled peanuts were so tasty, and definitely brought the heat! the friend pickles had some amazing batter! and the brisket….oh lordy the brisket will not soon be forgotten! tender, juicy, smokey goodness! i will be back to graze and with so many choices i might just still go back to the fabled rooster!
Went here for a quick dinner. I got the brisket sammy with the Gouda potato salad. Both were absolutely delicious. I love the space with all the different cuisine choices. Very chill space!
$24 for this pulled pork “meal”. 2 slices of bread. 2 bread & butter pickles, some baked beans and a small pile of pulled pork that was ice cold in the middle of it. I brought up the temperature to the guy working the register. He didn’t really have much to say about it. I ordered this and ate it within minutes of ordering it. How bbq pulled pork is served ice cold in the middle and luke warm on the outside is beyond me. I’d like to know what the Minneapolis health department would like say about hot holding temps at this place. Ridiculously expensive for the quantity and quality or lack thereof of food you get here. What a waste of $
Very mid tier food all around, the ribs lacked any smokiness and weren’t very tender. Tasted like something out of an oven. The beans were super sweet, collard greens were OK. Nice people but I wouldn’t go back
Dude for starters I ordered the bbq chicken dinner : chicken came as dry as the Mojave desert. No sauce whatsoever even tho it was called BBQ chicken. Okay next we asked for truffle fries & the guy said he would make us a side of them not a full order them , when the food was done he said he couldn’t do it because the owner walked in & just gave us some salty a$$ fries -_- already there it’s an F- for me big thumbs down & it was my first time trying them I was really hopeful. Ya wont go wrong with Badwingz or Soulbowl !!!!!!
Fried pickles and Cajun fries were sooooo good!! Smoked jack fruit was perfectly spicy and pork rib tips were delicious! Just ask my 14 year old.. super boujee eater!Recommended dishesFried Pickle Chip's w Bama Ranch, Cajun Truffle Fries
MANDATORY 18% service charge added to all orders, even though there's no table service. So that little reheated barbecue sandwich—already outrageously priced at $15—actually will cost you $18 plus tax.
I recently won a boatload of barbecue from the kind folks at TFR via Instagram and was blown away by how good the meat is. I ended up with ribs, pulled pork, and pulled beef and was lucky I had a couple friends on hand to help me out! There were four different sauces, each good in their own way, and a dazzling array of sides. I'll admit that the sides potato salad, macaroni salad, fries, baked beans, pickles, and coleslaw didn't all shine as brightly as the barbecue but several were top-notch. If you're craving bbq, order here!
Friendly service from owner Shaun and delicious food! The meat is so flavorful and the sauces have some real bite, especially the REAPER which is a flavorful mouth burner. They have vegan and gluten-free options as well! Guaranteed good comfort food, especially on a rainy day like today. Pro tip: Stop by on Sunday for the s'mores waffles. They really hit the spot, especially if you have kids.
