Such a cute restaurant. The sunshine, plush seating and homey decor made it an amazing brunch restaurant for my group of 5. The crowd is a bit more elevated I found so there was a nice level of background noise. 10/10 ambiance for sure.nnI also enjoyed the food - I ordered the $25 Cobb salad, mainly because I was curious why it was only available before 4. Still don’t know the answer to that one! I think the breakfast sandwich from the brunch menu that my friend ordered looked like the best thing on the table - super jealous. I also took a bite of my friends mushroom salad and the king oyster mushroom gave it a great meaty flavour. The food didn’t blow me out of the water, but I think it was good and fairly priced for the location and elevated dining experience.nnService was also great, but admittedly it wasn’t too busy when we came at 2pm. Would come again.
I had a wonderful experience at Stock Bar. This Italian coffee bar and food store truly feels like a little slice of Italy in Toronto. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with beautifully presented pastries, authentic Italian groceries, and a fantastic selection of fresh food. The coffee was excellent—rich, smooth, and perfectly prepared. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to help with recommendations. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick espresso, shopping for quality Italian ingredients, or enjoying a light meal, Stock Bar delivers a genuine and memorable experience. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates authentic Italian flavors and great service.
My husband and I went here for Valentine's Day. The server was pleasant and attentive. The food was okay. The calamari fritti was a bit salty, but the lemon helped balance it out. The Spaghetti alla Norcina was magnificent. The ribeye steak could've used a bit more salt, but it paired well with the Brussels sprouts. We finished with the affogato, which was delightful.
Stock Bar is a staple for me. I live in the neighborhood and have been coming here for years. I have met the owner and many of the servers, and they are always genuinely welcoming. It feels like a local Toronto restaurant that still cares about hospitality.nnOne thing I really appreciate about Stock Bar is their flexibility. Terroni restaurants in general have become increasingly strict with substitutions, which is understandable from an operational standpoint, but also challenging for guests. Many people today have dietary restrictions, allergies, or intolerances. Being able to eat out socially is a privilege, and not everyone has it. There was a recent visit where the kitchen initially pushed back on a modification that was important for me. It was frustrating in the moment, but the server and manager stepped in and handled it with care and professionalism. They chose to prioritize the guest over the “integrity of the dish,” and that matters. So thank you for that.nnIn terms of the food, I would rate Stock Bar around a 4.3 out of 5. It is not trying to be a hyper-trendy Toronto hotspot. You just need to know what to order.nnThe fresh pasta is consistently strong. Almost every pasta I have had has been very good. They do several versions of sausage pasta and those are always excellent. The daily feature pasta is usually a great bet. The carbonara is solid, although I find it quite salty. The Bolognese is not my favorite. It tends to lean heavier on the tomato sauce and less on the meat base, so it falls a bit flat for me compared to other places in Toronto.nnThe pizza is not my top pick here. It can be slightly dry and I would not call it the best Neapolitan pizza in the city. Where Stock Bar shines more for me is with their steaks. Fish can be hit or miss. I have had branzino that was overcooked before, but on my last visit it was perfect. I once had a cod special that was truly spectacular. The mushroom risotto special was also excellent.nnThe atmosphere is one of the reasons I keep coming back. It is that perfect in between. Not white tablecloth formal, but not overly casual either. It works for dinner with friends, family gatherings, date night at the bar, or drinks on the patio in the summer. The patio is especially beautiful during warmer months and makes it one of my go to neighborhood spots.nnOverall, Stock Bar is a dependable Toronto restaurant with strong pasta, solid steaks, a welcoming team, and an atmosphere that makes you want to return. If you live nearby, it easily becomes part of your rotation.
We had an amazing experience at Stock Bar! Even though we didn’t have a reservation, we were seated right away. The food was absolutely incredible and every dish we tried was delicious. The service was also fantastic- quick, attentive and very welcoming. Overall, it was a great dining experience and we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
