We had dinner here on July 20th on our way to pictured rock. Place is busy and food is perfectly cooked, well seasoned and smoked. We had fish and chips. We are well satisfied because we know what the best fish and chips are and this is one of the places you can get real fish and chip taste. Highly recommend for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Here, Pasties available too, the signature dish in Michigan. A big portion size.
Stopped here for a late lunch. The food was delicious, coffee hot and good tasting, service was excellent, and our waitress very friendly. The food was homemade. Real butter served and half n half on the table. The trucker's omelette was so large I have enough for tomorrow's breakfast! I even got a coffee to go. The restrooms were clean. We certainly will stop by again!
For road warriors such as myself Iol The Truck Stop in St Ignace is like a welcome friend I'm always happy to visit. Put this place on the category of "definately not franchise fast food". Truckers, locals, tourists, hunters, families, cops and preachers true story all rub elbows here. I was here during a big weekend for snowmobilers and they were here by the dozens. Wait staff are fun, energetic and help each other so that customers never lack for attention. The menu is typical American fare breakfast, lunch and dinner. They occasionally have dinner specials such as spaghetti dinners or white fish dinners.
Across the street from the General Store. Very polite and friendly staff. First time stopping for breakfast egg, sausage and cheese sandwich. And of course hot coffee! It was worth the stop. Small restaurant but big in service and quality of food! It was worth the stop. Been traveling this road for a couple months. Next time when it's breakfast time, will stop again.
Ordered a pasty. Finely ground meat shaped into a log. Potatoes were micro sized. No rutabaga. No crust. More like rolled out bread. Was the worse I've had. Don't order it!!
The best place in this side of the UP! Best breakfast I've ever had! I've tried the hashbrowns, corned beef hash, biscuits and gravy you have to get a full order, even just to take some home-- trust me, French toast, and the breakfast pasty. They have the best sausage gravy and the best smiles! Lovely staff and a great atmosphere. Just remember to bring your sweater :
Great place. Love the staff. We bum.over the bridge just to eat here often. Good old fashioned truck stop with large portions, and great food. Wish there were more places like this.
We stopped in for lunch and I ordered a Mushroom Swiss burger. I will say it was homemade. However as I took a bite there was hair in my burger inside the patty and also on the cheese under the top bun. The onion rings were not fresh they were frozen and they were not fully cooked so they were gummy. We showed our server, we were happy that she took the burger off our tab and discounted our other meal. But it really spoiled my appetite to have human hair covering my food. This is why it’s important to follow code and wear a hair net. If an inspector had come in it would definitely be a ding and violation.
This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend who said he had a good whitefish dinner there. So, being in the area, we stopped and gave it a try. I am a big fan of whitefish, so I had the whitefish broiled dinner. It included a choice of sides I had a side salad, it was fresh and crispy, choice of potato I chose baked, a vegetable dish corn, a nice dinner roll, and lots of butter. Everything was nicely prepared, plain and simple, with nice-sized portions -- a very complete and satisfying meal! I was very pleased with the whitefish, the chef had seasoned and broiled it to perfection. My wife had the walleye fingers, her dinner contents were basically the same as mine, except she ordered mashed potatoes which she was sure were made with real potatoes. She wasn't ecstatic about the breading on the walleye fingers. She got a generous portion so I got to try a couple. The fish was good but I agreed that I had had better breading. I imagine that this is a matter of personal taste, you may find them to be just fine. The restaurant was very busy when we visited. The cooks and wait staff really kept things moving. Although there were some signs warning that there might be delays due to being short-staffed, I think that their efforts kept the delays to a minimum. My commendations to them! The restaurant has an extensive menu and I saw many other choices that looked very interesting. I'll be anxious to return and try some of them!
We usually try to eat here about 4 times a year and have always had good food and service. ...until today! The food was just barely warm and I hate cold eggs! My husband's scrambled eggs were paper thin. Small portions compared to the tons of other times we ate here. Was VERY disappointed !!!
