The absolute best pasties in the UP! I stop every time I pass through and stock up for my trip back to Maryland. Staff is nice and willing to do large pre-orders. Chicken or beef are legit. Get the Youper if you never have. I need to go defrost one now...yumm!
The beef pastie was delicious. I was moderately skeptical driving up but definitely glad we stopped. It was a bit dry so you need the gravy. The pastry was flaky and well cooked.
This is a little roadside restaurant that specializes in homemade pasties - and they are so good! We've been here many times on our travels in the area and we aren't disappointed. Good Up North home cookin'.
Bessie's was recommended to us as the best place to get Pasties. We tried last year they were always closed because of shorter hours or they ran out. Finally made it this year. I understand why they run out quickly. Delicious!! Highly recommend getting the gravy.

I went here when I visited the northern Michigan area and it was such a cute little restaurant. I ordered their pasties and they where some of the best that I've ever had. I really recommend if you are in the St.Ignace area !
If you haven't had your fill of pasties, Bessie's aren't bad and we had very nice service! Brownie points for the upper peninsula emblem on my pasty.
