Amazing customer service! A+ I went into Sporting Life in JUNE looking for ski boots which were on sale. Obviously I did a bunch of research on which ones I wanted, but was very impressed with the knowledge and helpfulness of Wes. Was very nice to be able to talk to someone with a high level of experience and looking to make sure I had the right ski boot. Compared to a "box store", the experience was very personalized and he took the time to dig a lot deeper into the technical details of how and where I was going to ski -- not just the boilerplate ski questions. Will be going back for the final boot fitment, but it's nice that the "expert" is the one which is helping me, and who will eventually fine tune the boot for my needs. Glad I came here to make the final purchase. Personalized service is hard to find these days. Can't reiterate enough, great experience!
This store isn’t just the worst store in the chain, it’s one of the worst retail experiences you will ever have anywhere. Purchased my wife an “On” shoe a month ago. First wash with cold water and the white shoe isn’t getting clean anymore. Spoke with “Tylor” whom I was told is a “manager” in the store. Not only that he was not helpful and tried to upsell “cleaning kit” instead of replacing the product what a joke!, but he was also showing attitude to us “customers”.
Such outstanding customer service! Leila helped me with my Parajumper jacket and looked long and hard for the specific style I wanted. She was so great and managed to find the last one in stock! She was then able to grab my curbside order pickup for me even though it wasn't ready yet. Then, she even checked me out at cash! This is what customer service is all about, the way she stuck with me through the whole experience was amazing, thank you Leila! I will be back.
Great location for ski equipment. The service is a hit or miss.. some staff members just want you out as fast as possible, while some are really invested in getting you the best gear. If you go in for ski equipment, make sure to ask for Wess. Hands down the most knowledgeable and friendliest person there!
The African-Canadian girl who is standing in customer service, shouldn’t be working here. I came here to pick up my order which I placed 2 days ago and also the item is in stock currently, and that girl was saying I need to get a ready-to-pickup email to pick up my order. But it's in stock!!?? I asked her if she could check downstairs to see if my order is ready. She keeps saying I need to get that email. So I went to the cashier and explained the situation and the cashier said it's ready?? What kind of customer service is that? The girl was so lazy I can tell right away. She doesn't have any idea about customer service and she shouldn’t be working there. So bad. At the end of the conversation, she was saying “have a good day” I was like what???? You guys need to eliminate that girl asap.
Wesley in the ski department at the Yonge Street location was fantastic. I went in yesterday to try on some ski boots, found I was in between sizes and he advised me to the perfect fitting Tecnica boots and hand cut insoles to make the fit even better. All the while, meeting the price point I had in mind. It was very busy on a Sunday afternoon with several other staff members and customers interrupting, asking him questions which he answered quickly and politely, but didn't make me feel like my service was being compromised. I definitely recommend seeing him if you're looking for a new pair of boots. Props to Wes!!! Can't wait for the skis and bindings I have on order from Sporting Life to arrive so I can get everything set up to hit the slopes.
With regards to their "Easy Online Return Policy"...read their "fine print" carefully good luck finding it before purchasing from them. You'll be responsible for the Return Shipping, making them a unique vendor in this day and age and they are VERY PARTICULAR about their logistics and returns. x2 $135.00 shoes cost $88.00+ in returns. Never again. Their customer service support was poor at best.
I ordered one for delivery and the other urgent one for pick-up. It turned out that the delivery was faster than the pick-up. According to their website, the orders are supposed to be ready for the pick-up within 2 hours, but it is NOT true. Do not rely on their pick-up system for urgent purchases. They didn't even send the confirmation email when it was actually ready for pick-up. I had to ask them on the phone. It took 5 days to pick it up. So bad service.
This store have a cycling department at the back, Johnny is very knowledgeable and did everything possible to make sure my new shoes and pedals were installed properly. Highly recommend.
I just had a terrible experience with the manager Mona. I bought a jacket last season and wore it approximately 10 times. The zipper broke and I asked for them to repair the jacket that was not used for even one season. She told me they will not repair any items and wished me good luck trying to get it fixed. It must be better to stick with smaller businesses that actually care about their customers and help them fix products that should be under warranty. Mona told me to google the manufacturer and it’s not her problem. As a business owner I am embarrassed for sporting life. They need to do better.
