The store is quite understaffed and the skate sharpening has really gone downhill. They also used a stone on stainless blades and took the finish off. They have a new skate sharpening machine buy was told by employee that nobody knew how to use it. The Moncton store does a really good job. They wanted to use their old sharpener but the last time they tried that it didn’t have an edge and the blades were scorched. Nice employees but the hockey department has declined recently.
Staff is always friendly and mostly helpful. Unfortunately this store is tragically understaffed and under stocked. They store items in the warehouse but won’t put them on the sales floor, I’ve discovered this through ordering multiple items online to have them arrive at my door or in store on the following day and discovered they were “shipped” from this location. Not a huge issue unless it’s clothing that happens to be sized poorly.
There is a lot of sport items. Sometimes very good prices.
I would not recommend getting a bike tune-up here. Payed for the minor tune up $50 and looking to get the brakes replaced. When I called to see if my bike was ready they said yes. The bike repair person did nothing. Literally nothing was done when I went to pick it up. When asked what they did the repairs person didn’t know and If it was not for the nice younger gentleman working the counter asking the repair person what he did I would have wasted my money on nothing. The repairs person “tested” my brakes tried tightening them, said “looks like they’re shot, you’re going to need new ones” to which I said “yeah that’s why I brought it in” he shrugged and said they may have some and that it might get done by the start of the week. Very unprofessional and lazy. It appears as thought the mechanic attempted to get away with not doing any work
Good collection as usual but they don't carry top of the line badminton racquet etc. Update: could not find table tennis racquet this time

ever since kyle left the sporting dept and skate sharpening has been terrible. i no longer go into this store for that reason.
Went to get long sleeved yoga shirt. Short was less than price shown. Love when that happens. Very quickly in and out.
Went to Sport Chek last night and waited in line for 5 minutes The only ones in line while the other cashier stood there talking to a coworker and texting on her phone... I’ve worked retail before and if there is a customer waiting to be rung in you stop what your talking about and you ring them through. You don’t continue to stand there and gossip and text on your phone.. We almost put back our merchandise and walked out.. Just super unprofessional.
Not my favorite place, never enough staff and if there is it's like pulling teeth to get service. Pricing is alittle steep. But, I don't want to paint ALL the staff with the same brush I have in the past had a couple nice ones.
