I called Alternatives to service 2 oil heaters in my house in January of 2013. It took many calls to finally get them to show up to do the work only to be told they needed parts. Once again I received no feedback from the store and upon calling them was told the parts were in, they were partly in, and they weren't in. never the same story. I called the supplier my self to find that they hadn't even been ordered. So 3 months after requesting service the parts were finally ordered. When they arrived I was told I had to pay immediately before they would come out to service. When they finally arrived after more calls on my part, I was told they did not have all the parts and would have to order more. Once again I was informed when these arrived I would have to pay before they would come out. When they came out for the third time (June at this point - not much need for heaters in summer), they claimed to have serviced the heaters and left. The heater which had been acting up now no longer worked at all. And the one that had been working now was having problems. 2 months later and I am still calling them to come fix the heaters. Altogether 8 months of frustration for simple service call. The sad part is that I only wanted them serviced to get me through last winter. I was planning to replace them with two ductless heat pumps. Guess who won't be getting that business.
