Spa at the Heritage Hotel

Usually we enjoy staying here and do so often, we may reconsider for next time. I first want to say that over the past year the service in the tavern had gone downhill, but when we went there to get a drink the service, this time was absolutely superb. I really wish they would put more appetizers on their menu because sometimes you just want a little something to have with a drink at night. Despite the excellent service in the Tavern, it did not make up for the dirty rundown room that we had. It also didn’t make up for the fact that they kept leaving us one washcloth for two people to use. We still left a tip, but we’ll definitely have to think long and hard about staying at this place again. You could see soap scum on the shower that had not been washed, the showerhead was falling off the wall, corners of the room or disgusting, and the curtains for the window or dirty.

Be aware when you hand them a credit card during check-in that you're handing them the opportunity to charge whatever they please. I booked through a third party thinking that the hotel was dog friendly as written in my confirmation email that I received. Because they thought I "snuck" my dogs in, they decided to charge me $250 without informing me until I called to question why I was charged in the first place. I didn't sign anything authorizing them to charge my credit card and they could've at least had the decency to tell me as I'm checking out. But instead, I checked out smiling and the front desk staff didn't say a word to me... for me to find out through my credit card. I called multiple times requesting the manager to give me a call but never received such a call. On top of that, this was a prepaid reservation so they decided to also double-charge me for my reservation on top of the $250 dog fee so for a one day trip, the total is almost $600 for a day at a hotel.

DISGUSTING! This hotel was previously a very nice place to stay. We stayed here this past weekend and chose a pet friendly room, which sometimes can be a little less nice. Upon walking into the hallway, there was an intense “chemical smell”, we went to our room and it was even worse. It was burning my nostrils it was so strong. Being that it was later in the day we had to stay as there was no where else to stay. We let the front desk know and their response was lacking; “we will send over the cleaning crew”. They never came over Clearly the hotel does not care about this, as there are other reviews about this. I wish I dug into the reviews a little deeper before staying here…

I was here for a family getaway to celebrate my daughters 5th birthday. The last night we were there we were hanging by the outdoor pool, and I left my black Versace shades. I saw the guy that cleans the pool wondering around since it was almost closing. I immediately told someone that I lost my shades at the front desk, thinking they might’ve had a lost and found. And nothing. The next day for check out. I noticed my 14k gold ring was missing. I had left it on top of the desk & went back upstairs to get it. It was a very valuable gift from my grandmother. It wasn’t even 20 min and the housekeeper had already cleaned the room. I reported it to somebody at the front desk as well, and nothing. I was told to ask the house keepers, and nobody seemed to know anything. My ring was left on top of the table which was very visible. I am disgusted with this place because not only were they lying but I never expect to come to a place and get my possessions stolen. I am very upset and would not recommend this place at all, there are THIEFS working here! And I would not be returning here what so ever. The employees were not helpful at all!! And the manager was nowhere to be found. I don’t understand how this place is being ran when managers are not on site when you need them most. If I can I would give them 0 star & breakfast wasn’t free at that. I payed so much money for this hotel & payed for breakfast which it’s the first for me. Please make sure where ever you stay at it has GOOD reviews AND FREE BREAKFAST !!

Only hotel in Southbury, so not much incentive to upgrade. Tired rooms, small but comfortable. Out for the whole day and no housekeeping until late afternoon. Expensive breakfast buffet, so just went with the free coffee and visited Hudson's Bistro next door.Rooms: 4/5

The rooms were small but nice the staff was kind but my main complaint is the fact they would pit a hotel in the middle of nowhere. Other than that, the place is niceRooms: 4/5

Nice hotel located in the 'Heritage' community, an upscale retirement? village with lots of greenery and water. The hotel is big and very busy, at any given day multiple events and conferences appeared to be going on. The rooms are nice, somewhat small but nicely appointed and very clean. They appear quite recently renovated and everything looked good. The facilities of the hotel are excellent, the gym area is very large and has enough equipment for an extensive workout; as well as a big pool. The food at the restaurant is good, and they host a weekly pubquiz which was fun. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

The best and one of the only hotels in the area. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The buffet breakfast is excellent. The food at the bar / restaurant is okay. Beautiful grounds ad pool facility. The surrounding area is lovely.Rooms: 4/5

Held a birthday party at this hotel over the weekend. WOW is all I could say. Everyone was extremely accommodating and kind. I worked directly with Claire who was amazing from day one! Thank you all for making this a memorable celebration.
