Southeastern Idaho Public Health has super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Not the most convenient location, but definitely worth the drive. All recommended immunizations readily available as well as travel vaccines.
The health department has some amazing employees. These guys are willing to help do anything in their wheelhouse. As a next door neighbor, we’ve had so many needs throughout the pandemic and they’ve been amazing to step in and help. From volunteer testing, to setting up vaccines and even after hours questions. They are amazing!
I, D. Arnold, had a negative, uncomfortable experience with one very hostile volunteer/employee at this vaccination clinic at 560 Memorial Dr. on 4/2/21. However, my overall impression of the vaccination clinic is that it is run very well by nice, professional people other than this one person. After receiving my vaccination, I was sitting at a table in the large room where they have you wait to make sure you don’t have a bad reaction to the vaccine. Suddenly, a very aggressive, unfriendly, middle aged man, who appeared to be a volunteer, was interrogating me aggressively about why I had a small personally owned medical device with me I brought it in case I had a bad reaction to the vaccine. This person seemed to be personally, verbally attacking me, a female patient, for no reason. Basically, I feel I was bullied by this aggressive volunteer/employee. Perhaps volunteers like this should not be working in this clinic. Later, out in the parking lot, I heard him it appeared to be him tell someone he taught Physical Therapy at ISU. Perhaps this identifying information will help this Public Health/ISU vaccination clinic to let this person know he must be polite and respectful with patients. He was quite inappropriate for no reason. Other than that, the clinic appears to be run well but I am left shaken by this man’s unreasonable, hostile behavior towards me. Posted by D.Arnold. This is V. Kantabutra, husband of D.Arnold. I was on the phone with my wife when this incident occurred. We were talking quietly when suddenly I heard an unfriendly, aggressive male voice questioning my wife in a hostile way, I was confused and disturbed that my wife was treated this way when all she was doing was sitting at a table quietly waiting for a few minutes to make sure she didn’t react negatively to the vaccine. Please talk to this volunteer/employee to let them know to not treat other patients in this hostile, inappropriate way. He needs to behave in the same friendly, respectful, professional way as others that work at this vaccination clinic. Update: The Director of SE Idaho Public Health sent me a helpful email after learning of my unpleasant experience with the volunteer at the clinic. This reinforces my overall impression that the vaccination clinic is well run and that my unpleasant experience with one agitated seeming volunteer was not typical of the overall good quality of the vaccination clinic.
I know that the people who are trying to schedule and administer the COVID-19 vaccines are probably going crazy right now. Whoever answered my calls when I originally scheduled our appointment and subsequent reschedule was extremely nice and very helpful. I wish I would have asked her name so that I could identify her in this post. She made a stressful situation totally stress free. Kudos to all our health care workers
Recently needed some testing and a couple other minor procedures done for a medical course I was taking. This facility was just fine to work with. Receptionists were friendly enough, and in the 3 times I've been in there, all the nurses I've worked with were great. Definitely could have been a much worse experience.
When I went into the health center about three months ago I was absolutely shocked by the lack of empathy I felt as I approached one of the three receptionists. As a woman trying to receive help from anybody who works in a doctor's office you should never feel stupid or as if you are being judged. That is exactly what I felt. I then completed paperwork to get into my appointment and finally got into a doctor who treated me as a normal human being. I would suggest hiring new receptionists who are a little more friendly towards customers. I would not reccomend this health center to anybody. I have never felt more uncomfortable in a "safe place"
Love the people and staff! Super helpful and understanding! For People scrolling through reviews: Please remember to be kind to people in the health field/industry, they go through a lot on the daily!
They were nice people. But all i came in for was to have my blood drawn. Im not too great with needles or blood.. Well the lady missed my vain twice. I got so nauseas I had to leave. Definately am conflicted about going back here.
Good place to come when you don't have much money to spend, they have a sliding scale system. The staff members are competent and mostly friendly
Came in, didn’t have an appointment and they don’t take walk ins today but the lady at the desk was very sweet checked me in and that was it.
