Sons of Norway

About

Our mission is to promote all that is good and noble in Norwegian culture, especially in the Poulsbo area.

Story

The Sons of Norway Fraternal Benefit Society was established in 1895 to preserve the best of the Norwegian heritage and culture.

The Poulsbo Lodge was formed on February 22, 1916 by thirty-six men of Norwegian descent. Nine women were admitted in 1923. In 1973, the Lodge opened its new Grieg Hall. The beautiful lodge is located on the Poulsbo waterfront with a panoramic view of Liberty Bay. With unobstructed views over Liberty Bay, the lodge has the feel of being on a Norwegian fjord.

The Lodge and its members belong to District #2 covering Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska. The Lodge holds its business meetings on the second of Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm.

Mission

The mission of Sons of Norway is to promote and to preserve the heritage and culture of Norway, to celebrate our relationship with other Nordic Countries, and provide quality insurance and financial products to our members.

It is a great club that celebrates and educates about the Norwegian culture and history. It has fun social events, friendly members and volunteering opportunities.

Great venue, building, location.. HORRIBLE STAFF! the hosts made sure to try to ruin a good time. I understand rules about alcohol, but when you don't allow somebody to bring in a bottle of unopened alcohol that is a gift, and you are SMELLING people's cans of SODA while leaving to make sure it isn't alcohol.. NOT okay. So tacky. RUDE. A wedding should be the best day of the couple's lives and should not include having to deal with B.S. from the crabby staff of the venue over small things that are so ridiculous.
