If you are traveling to the area, and more specifically, if you are traveling with pets, than this is the place to stay. Relocated to the area with 2 dogs, and not only did I feel welcomed by each staff member, but ground floor room with door to outside was a blessing. Lots of grass and park close for the pups! When they say pet friendly, they definitely area!!nJuan's job title needs to be, master of all, and hotel ambassador!! During our almost 2 week stay, I saw him throughout the hotel in a variety of roles, and he always had a smile on his face and welcoming demeanor. No matter the question, he always put me on the right path. Breakfast was always good and filling and the ladies working there, greeted me every morning with a upbeat and welcoming hello. Restaurant/bar was nice to have, and the food was really good, bartenders always remembered my preferences when I came in sign of a great bartender. Overall, there isn't anything negative I can say about my stay.
This hotel has a lovely location, the room was clean and the breakfast is quite good. The ladies helping there were very friendly. The room facilities definitely needs more care in checking up. My room was freezing cold because a control vent was closed so although I upped the thermostat, the temperature did not get to comfortable. My toilet cistern kept leaking into the toilet. My son's room did not even have a duvet under the bedspread. As we arrived in the evening, our night was not comfortable. When we pointed out the problems the next day, the problems were fixed quickly however.
Stayed 2 nights. No hot water the first day, but didn't tell me and let me check in. No apologies either. The second floor hallway has the nastiest carpet and is completely lumpy and uneven. It appears to have had water damage at some point. There is an awful smell too. The carpet in the room was nasty too. Also, the restaurant messed up my order. The view is nice
I'll start with the pros. The front desk worker was very friendly and helpful, both over the phone and when checking in. The staff running the breakfast were also very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choices. It's probably the best free hotel breakfast I've had. The downstairs common areas and breakfast room were beautiful and well kept. The bed was comfortable, and I slept well on it. Now, the cons. There was a bad smell in the upstairs hall, and the carpet was very badly stained. Thankfully, the room wasn't as bad. The carpet wasn't great, but there were only a couple stains, and it didn't smell bad. The room was only moderately clean. I was okay staying in it, but would have appreciated a little better cleaning. The room was a bit on the small side and was a little cramped. We were only there one night, so it was fine, but if we had wanted to be in the room more, it might have been a problem. There was only one outlet and one USB port between the two beds. Since we needed to plug in two phones, a travel fan, and an A-pap, it was a little challenging. We managed, but had to use outlets across the room and stretch the cords. All in all, it was a decent stay even with the cons. I'd likely stay again.
I was reading the reviews, and people have posted 4.5 stars, but I'm extremely surprised at the rating. This is definitely NOT a 4 star or above hotel.nnThere is parking available.nnWhen you first walk into the hotel you will find a pretty fireplace and it seems quaint, but after you go upstairs, you will see the carpets have multiple stains on the floors which is such a gross thing to see. I attached some pics of the hallway and the pictures do not capture the mount of tains on the floor.nYou then proceed into the rooms, and the carpet as well look just as dirty. It's gross and you should NOT walk barefoot. This fact alone makes you wonder about the cleanliness of the rest of the room.nnThe restroom shampoo and conditioner containers were empty. The showers had mildew on the crevices.nnThe TV had basic channels, and it does not give you an option to purchase movies.nnI'm being generous to give this hotel 3 stars. They have a nice view of the water way which is pretty. And, it's in town. No other reason to stay here. Look for a cleaner hotel.nnWould I stay here again? Definitely not.n*Dear hotel, do a deap clean!
