Amazing BBQ! We got the BBQ for one and a brisket naan. This was more than enough food for two, and everything was well seasoned and delicious. The brisket and mac and cheese were my favorites It is a bit confusing because there are multiple restaurants in the same space, and you get multiple menus. Servers are nice, the interior is spacious for large groups as well. Will be back!
This was a very good experience. A friend and I finally decided to give this place a go, and we were both pleasantly surprised by the smokey taste and quality of the BBQ. The Korean ribs were just . This is of course a pricey restaurant but the quantity you get for it reasonable. Definitely worth it if sharing with a friend or two
First impressions - beautifully designed restaurant with amazing food options but the BBQ prices seemed quite expensive. We ordered the platter for 6, along with the chicken mexicana stuffed naan and some drinks I recommend their lemonade mojito! and all of the food was DELISH. The quantity served was enough to feed wayyy more than six people imo since we had a lot of leftovers but the meat was tender and the mac n cheese tasted great. Not a big fan of corn bread and I do wish they had more sauce options, but overall a great experience that was amplified by the top notch service.
This is the second time I come here and it exceeded my expectations from the first time, which is why I deleted my first review. The meat was great and the portion was perfect. Everything was super delicious. We had a problem where they gave us the wrong side it was wayyyyy too spicy, but the chef recognized his mistake and gave us the side we initially ordered for free. Mistakes happen, but not all restaurants seem to care. This one however, does. Can't wait to come here again!
My friends and I went to Smokey Sam’s for dinner. The restaurant is fairly large and wasn’t too busy at the time. There was plenty of sunlight throughout and while we sat inside, the outdoor seating also looked very cozy. We shared a Queso Cheese Dip and Chips. Our server had warned us beforehand that’s it’s fairly spicy and she was right- it lived up to its reputation. The dip tasted great! My drink on the other hand was quite watery with no distinct flavour. We also tried the smoked lemonade which I found to be super unpleasant. It tasted like liquid smoke infused water. As for the meal, I ordered the BBQ platter for One. I opted for a Nashville chicken Mac n’ Cheese which was well seasoned but the chicken was overly cripsy/hard, making it a little difficult to enjoy. Similarly, the chips were rather rigid. Thankfully, the fries were decent. Now on to the brisket itself, the brisket tasted really monotonous and the meat felt overpowered with the taste of liquid smoke as well. I couldn’t help but feel disappointed with the flavour as the meat quality was nice and tender. We also tried the Nashville Hot Chicken Sando and found it to be better than the brisket, however, it was made with what seemed like standard white bread. That detracted from the dish and it would’ve tasted better in terms of texture and in ease of eating if an alternative bread/bun was used. The overall service were great but the food left a lot to be desired.
Went there tonight for some good ol' brisket. I like that this is a shared space between a few different restaurants as it adds to the lively vibe of the place. We waited a bit for our brisket and our half bbq chicken to arrive from Smokey Sam's. Chicken was delicious and hot. Tasted perfectly bbqd. The brisket was slightly cool and therefore drying out. We told the waiter this and I believe the owner came to us and told us he'd bring out new fresh brisket to which my husband said we are okay with the old one being warmed up. The gentleman insisted and brought us hot fresh brisket to eat right away and pack up the cooled one. It was exactly what we had in mind to eat tonight. Super amazing service and we truly appreciated it. Would highly recommend this both due to the food and service. Hope this place prospers for a long time as it's one of a kind in Mississauga.
Super Disappointed with meat cuts & chicken quality. They served us burnt chips . Overly priced for the quality of meat. We spent $40 on brisket combo & the meat was soo soo bad. Nashville chicken burger had bad chicken & super burnt chips. Complete waste of calories & money. Strongly discourage you to drive from distance to eat her
I’ve always loved Meat & Pie co, we’ve been there 3-4 times now and even to the Toronto location and have had it delivered to our house mid pandemic and the food has never disappointed. the meat is exceptional, it’s always juicy and cooked well! the chips are my fav because they’re soft in some areas and they’re BANANA CREAM PIE WAS MY FAV pie until they discontinued it: which is really sad so now I’m trying to find a recipe to make it just like them but the mango pie is veryyyy yummy too
We went to Smokey Sam's Barbecue during afternoon on Dec 31st. They have exceptional customer service and very helpful servers. The atmosphere was good too but food needs to be improved. We ordered a platter for two, which included smoked tandoori half chicken, 3/4 lb brisket, Nashville mac and cheese, cornbread, dill pickle fries, and cajun chips, and was $78+tax. The brisket was tender and good but nothing extraordinary. The tandoori chicken was not edible, it was extremely dry and hard to eat despite using extra barbecue sauce. We packed it but ended up throwing it out. The mac and cheese were so spicy that we could only eat one spoon and had to mix with more mac and cheese at home to finish. The pickle fries were just regular fries you get at all restaurants. The cornbread and bbq sauce were good. The coleslaw and red cabbage were tasteless.
Pretty good brisket compared to alternatives. This place smokes their brisket in cherry and hickory wood, and I really loved the real smoke smell and taste. Paired with the bbq sauce, the brisket is a great option. However, their drinks are very expensive and some of the weirdest I've ever tasted. I feel that they never tasted their lemonade before making it. Finally, their sandwiches are way too expensive for the quality and amount. If you are spending that amount, better order a platter or brisket plate. EDIT: I tried their brisket naan and onion smash burger. Those two items are a highlight of the menu.
