Slows Bar BQ Pontiac

This Slow’s BBQ is a great location in the town of Pontiac that hasn’t found a great way to survive. We were fortunate to be there the day before they close for good. Hopefully they open it again. The staff were truly friendly and the food was great. The taste is well worth the drive from Detroit area to Pontiac for a small town feel that deserves to survive.

Our experience at Slows in Pontiac was incredible. My husband and I were celebrating our first night out after having a baby, and from the moment we walked in it was like the staff wanted to celebrate with us! They made us feel like family right away. Teddy our server was AMAZING. He really gets it that sometimes a server can make or break your dining exoerience, and he made it THE. BEST. He was SO attentive and incredibly informative about everything on the menu. He even told us when he thought we'd ordered too much to make sure we saved money and knew what we were getting ourselves into --- and he was right, I didn't need that side of mac and cheese! The appetizer came out a bit cold and he was SO quick to take it away and bring us a fresh one, and the manager immediately took it off our bill. The food was incredible, but it really was the atmosphere and friendliness of all the staff that made it such a fun experience. We decided this is our new go-to spot. We can't wait to go back! If the management is reading this, do not let Teddy go. He is a HUGE asset to your staff, and honestly he's the most knowledgeable server I've ever had in any restaurant. He clearly loves Slows and is excited to share it with everyone! Anyone else reading this, if you go to Slows in Pontiac, request Teddy!! Especially if it's your first time there --- you won't regret it!

Food is delicious! But I think its a bit overrated... always full, wait time is long.

My co-workers and I went there for lunch on a Wednesday. The service was fast and friendly and the food was amazing as expected. I love the aesthetic of the restaurant as well. Prior to this visit, I had only ordered takeout which was a great experience as well. I had called around 1:00 to see when I should place my order for pickup around 6:30 and they took my order right then and there for a later pick-up. Everything is so customer-focused and I really, really appreciate it. Great job, guys!

Amazing food. The good warm comfort foods that you do not usually make at home. Who has time to smoke a brisket? Slows Bar BQ does. Great beer and drinks selections as well.
