Skyhook Motel

This is a 1 star hotel - if you know that ahead of time it'll probably be fine, although a bit expensive although I guess everything is. Rooms are incredibly cheap and old. Beds, including bedding, need to be replaced. Wall heater lacks a thermostat and is hard to control - and should be replaced. Walls lack any noise abatement between rooms so hope you don't have neighbors that make any noise. No AC. I can't imagine staying here in the summer or if the place were full.

Charming motel in a charming town. Chairs outside the rooms offer a lovely view of the town from up on the bluff. A perfect spot to relax. Owner is super nice and offers a discount for cash payment. Homey rooms that feel like staying in a relative's place. Don't expect fancy, but do expect comfy. Some rooms even have a separate bedroom for the second bed. Good wifi. Oh, and definitely go to the local brewery, BTW; it's fantastic.

At first I thought, what have I gotten into here. Soon after I realized it is very charming. The owners were super nice and friendly. The room was clean and cozy. My only complaint would be the phone booth sized shower in my room. Shower was hot with great water pressure so that was good. The next morning a small herd of deer was right outside my door. If you are going to visit the Painted Hills or just driving through stay at the Sky Hook Motel in Mitchell, Oregon.

It needed some simple cleaning and painting done but it was good enough for a roadside stop over. The bathroom vent is in desperate need of cleaning and we had two daddy long legs above the shower that looked like they had been there a while. The host is nice. There's a good view of the town but some chairs outside would be nice. There's no A/C and I didn't think to ask about that ahead of time.

Perfect for spending your time outside experiencing painted hills! Small rooms, clean, newer TV. Great price and a discount for cash payment! You sleep there and go hiking trails! Not A HOTEL. Will definitely stay there again. Owner very nice.
