Visited 6/06/23. Not much choice of draft ales. Shipyard wasn't very nice, which is most unusual as it is an excellent beer. Member of staff left us midway through serving to serve some else. No fish on the menu, no gammon one meal out of four was luke warm. The people on the next table had what looked liked a block of cannabis, don't know for sure but it certainly looked like it. All in all a thoroughly unpleasant place.
Went in today for lunch. Staff really good and very helpful. Food was spot on, wife had scampi and I had buttermilk chicken. Both cooked to perfection with my chicken being very moist, juicy and very tasty. Wife says her scampi was lovely.
Popped in for an “eat out to help out” breakfast. Just after 8am so only a few folk in so got served immediately at the bar. Just had a small vegetarian breakfast which was surprisingly nice if a tad cooler than it should have been. £2.14 including unlimited coffee. The cost is like eating out in 1975! Pretty standard example of this popular pup chain.
It's a Wetherspoon's what more can I say?!?! Always guaranteed some sort of entertainment with the local clientèle I don't mind the place myself, always busy even at crack of dawn
The pub itself it's abit worn not the best weather spoons I've been in but not the worst BUT the breakfast was one of the nicest ive eaten in any weather spoons perfect fresh runny eggs lovely !!
Nice atmosphere good drink price but the food wasn't that good I have q chicken burger and the only thing I ate was the stake chips that was there and there wasn't alot
Passing through Wakefield, we decided to have breakfast. The staff were very welcoming, and the food was delivered quickly and well presented. The choice of real ale perfect.
Brilliant. My 2 sisters and I bought our father , it was his 72 birthday . . Lovely meals , all came as asked an made the whole day go fantastic. Great staff , smiles on faces , even asked for a doggie bag the steak was beautifully cooked , I took it home lol . Thanks to all , you made our day great . Much love an respect. Oh not forgetting price on drinks . Stella is 2.85 a pint wow. Am lucky to get that for less then 4 quid in Leeds. I'll be back deffo recommended
This was a winter visit so fully appreciative that the gardens aren't in their full pomp. Daphne's were in full scent though. Sadly many areas were cordoned off.
You get exactly what you pay for and I'm a fan. Great value and perfectly edible food. Vegetarian options: Nice veggie selection, varied enough for multiple visits.
