Sunday evening after 5:30 pm and the Silver City Restaurant & Ale House in Silverdale was busy! But we were seated right away, and the server was friendly and attentive. It’s a loud place, so be prepared to speak loudly to be heard by whoever you’re with.nnI got the Open-Faced Reuben, and my wife got the Prime Rib French Dip. I liked the Reuben. The corned beef was tender and tasty. There are a lot of flavors going on with the sauerkraut, honey mustard, and thousand island dressing, but it works. I would get it again. The French Dip was also good; however, we were disappointed in the amount of meat on the sandwich. The sandwich is just over $20, and we expected a more substantial sandwich. Plus, it will cost you an additional $2 if you want cheese on your sandwich. Overall, prices are high. For two sandwiches with fries and only drinking water, our final bill was almost $53, including taxes and tip. If we each had a drink and we got an appetizer, the bill would easily push $100. Overall, a nice place for a meal and a craft beer, but just be prepared to pay a lot for food that’s good, but not great.nnI do recommend that you give Silver City a try. They have a lot of variety on the menu and a great selection of craft beers.
Overall a great experience! Staff was vibrant and lively, yet respectful and welcoming. The atmosphere was as expected, with purposeful dim lighting and wood EVERYWHERE.nFor my order, I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich. They advertise 11 hour roasts for the pork, which was easily reflected in the tender and juicy texture of the pork, without requiring gallons of sauce spilling out of the sandwich like other restaurants. I was able to eat the entire sandwich without a single piece of pork coming out, yet the proportions were exact to my desire. The fries were as expected, and the spicy BBQ sauce was definitely a twist as far as diversity in flavor goes.nMy only critique would be the price, but you get what you pay for. For 4 people, it was almost $150 including tip. However, this isn't McDonalds, so a higher price tag is expected. The food was well worth the cost and the environment invited cordial conversation.
Food is great here, but the beers are better. The Reuben inspired open face sandwich was a bit dry, but the flavor was great. It really did need the marbled rye bread instead of a thick bread. The chicken strips were fried perfect, but did appear to be a version of a boxed/frozen style. The burger was simple without much seasoning. The fries were given steak fries and some were pretty dry. The spicy fettuccine Alfredo shrimp was pretty tasty. I think when you have huge places like this by a mall, you have to be a bit forgiving if certain aspects of a group meal come out more dry and not quite as flavorful. The place is still great and it's 3 go back again, if nothing else but the beers.
We were really looking forward to our trip to Silver City, we love the tropic haze and ride the spiral! We shared the wings and steak salad and both were just ok - we would give it a 3/5 for the food. The beer is fantastic - definitely 5/5 - and we were able to try some seasonal offerings like the experimental IPA as well as the sonic reign pale and range west ipa. Service was great! Next time we would skip the restaurant and go straight to the taproom.
While close to Silverdale, WA. We were looking for a good burger joint. A local recommended Silver City. What a great find. Clean establishment. Friendly staff and amazing food. The Chicken Pot Pie is huge. Extra flaky crust tops the huge bowl packed with chicken meat, roasted veggies and a great chicken gravy. The Big Daddy burger was juicy with thick cut bacon and the usual toppings. The fries were perfect and crisp and fluffy on the inside.nI highly recommend this place if you happen to be driving by and you are getting hungry.nAMAZING BEER ON TAP TOO.
