Sidewalk Citizen Bakery

When you walk into a bakery and they are actually BAKING the food - it’s gooooooood. I would have liked to try more things, but I loved every part of the experience! Very warm and welcoming atmosphere, great staff and perfect food!!

Delicious. Sweet and savoury - amazing place for breakfast or lunch. Plus Phil & Sebastian Coffee is right next to it - you can even order it at the counter. My favourite place to hang out.

It was located in such a cool building so right of the bat it made a good first impression. The interior did not disappoint! What a cool building. The food itself was delicious especially the pastries😍 everything was also stationed so well!

Very rude staff. Honestly, I really don't expect much in terms of human interaction when ordering food from anywhere. So the fact that some of the staff here may be a little blunt and devoid of charm doesn't bother me. I only wish to purchase something then leave, and I will do my best to be a polite customer during this process. But I find it insulting when, after ordering a $14 sandwich, leaving a tip, and being asked my name for the order, I receive an order identification marker that has "Ick" written on it, rather than "Nick". Obviously, "Ick" is not a real name and you guys are probably doing this sort of stuff as a passive aggressive way to make fun of your customers. This isn't Starbucks. Please try to be more professional.

This place has so much going for it. Best bread in Calgary. I'm never disappointed with anything on their menu, and many items change based on what's in season so there's always great variety. For what you get (high quality ingredients and expert preparation), I find it a great value as well. Finally, you can't beat the atmosphere and location of their East Village location.
