Shifa Restaurant

When I'm hungry I know driving on Iris Street is the only way to get to Safia authentic Somali Restaurant. As I sit here waiting for a tea no coffee shop makes. I'm happy that this restaurant lasted 13 years and God Willing will be here for much more.

Great food, amazing service, Adam is a great customer service person!! I just found this place about three weeks ago and have been there 10 to 12 times. Great samosas, chicken, rice and potatoes with mixed veg and beef. Recommend this place very highly.

Wow! Visited yesterday and I must say what a meal! I tried one of everything and I have to mention EVERYTHING tasted amazing. Tasted like a delicious home cooked meal. I will definitely be making this place a new go-to.

I ordered the rice and beef, chicken and chapati, and a samosa. All 3 were delicious and the former 2 were generously sized. Meats were well seasoned and tender, the chapati was flakey and amazing, and the rice was great. Very glad I discovered this gem!

Such amazing food. I had the Chicken & Chapati with rice and it is absolutely amazing. the sauces they provide compliment the food extremely well. They also pay really good attention to special instruction as my order was perfect. Definitely found my new favorite local restaurant. Can't wait until I can get a big group of friends and dine in to experience the atmosphere!!!! I ordered pasta with beef through Uber eats. I didn't receive ANY beef , onions nothing just plain pasta. I don't know if they forgot to add the food in but I'm so disappointed considering I always order shifa and this was a huge mistake which ruined my meal.

If you like Somali food, this place is the best in Ottawa. No one has lamb as succulent and cooked perfectly. The rice has improved as of late. It used to be quite oily but has gotten a lot better. They have great dishes. Mild and spicy. The Sambusa are great. The Sabaya wrap, chicken or beef, is good as a quick snack to go. Definitely check this place out. If you've never tried Somali food, TRY IT!
